Turnips & Swedes
Yep that’s pretty well about it, I’m fairly easy going with most things, but Turnips & Swedes I definitely dislike.Mr Blue
G’day, noice choice of cycle too;) .
bit like rocking horse stuff in NSW too.
Mr Blue
worked in the timber industry from the tme I was 15 til last year, started off as a timber stacker, had worked in basically every part of the industry even as a Public servant, finished up as quality/safety/training manager for one of the larger companies. Got sick of the blatant greed and self deception rife in that industry.
Went and worked for six months with the indigenous communities to cleanse my soul, it changed me back to the person I used to be brought me right back down to earth, made some solid friendships within the community.
Now I am a risk & safety cordinator within local government, I love itBluedude
Try the big aussie one that Lee & Drew run, what piqued my interest anyone who is a little bit of a stirrer has no personal info and then has a sig saying “secret squirrel business” is a prime suspect methinks.
Mr Bloo
Like he said he gets all around the net, and I believe we crossed paths in another realm tonight eh CJ Burns
?
lucky I possess a memory like a Blue elephant.
mr Blue
for some weird reason I always think of CJ Burns Esq whenever I think of a squirrel, what says you Li’l furry pal?

And i too have very fond memories of my MR50 and Cr250s, doesn’t mean I’d buy another honda though, very heavy bikes for their respective classes these days (except the new 450 MXer) & no smokers, just smoke & mirrors on that one.
Has the BMW got switchable ign maps or any other gadetry like that?
And Mick when you say the power is not here & now does this mean it has a lagging feel to it?, I have a couple of mates (yes just the two) that are in the market for big 4t enduro and haven’t even thought of the beemer.Bluebloke
ADB #1 every month, mostly out of loyalty, Geoff Eldridge (RIP)campaigned long and hard against some stoopid stoopid descisions back in the day, that interupted many riders racing careers, especially the juniors in NSW fr a short period, imagine being 15 5’10” and if you wished to compete had to ride a standard sized late 70s/early 80s- 80cc bike???, not allowed to ride a 125 until 18, no motorsport in NSW for juniors etc etc, they fought tooth and nail against these draconian measures for us, so the loyalty runs deep.
Him & Murray Watt used to go to as many race meetings they could & sponsered or gave out encouragement awards and the like, they could also both ride like demons when they put their race faces on (for old blokes anyway), and they never ever took themselves too seriously, unless it was a serious matter.
Has lost some of its’ zing over the years but is still the best IMHO, Dirt Action is also good for the support they offer the racing fraternity, also has some fast lads penning for it.
Also think I have every issue of AMCN from 1987-1997 at home as well, what can i say I love all two wheeled disciplines….. .Mr Bluooce
I had a set fall apart last year in the KTM, the ones in my YZ look like pure metal, seem to have bugger all fibrous material, I’ll check the brand tonight when i get home but whatever they are they DON’T stop me very well at all, it’s like ballbearings on ice.
Now i have given my one riding secret away, have cwap brakes, everyone thinks you’re fast, you’re not you just can’t go slowMr Blue
Now I will be careful with this statement, but with O’Neal products i have found great inconsistency, and this may be your problem Mick.
My wife buys a fair amount of this stuff locally for our kids, at a premium price for basic stuff too, she has bought me stuff and because we have limited choice when we need it (reads “Dad my helmet won’t fit me now”, or, “I’ve tore my pants last week silly”) means some saturday mornings are a mad dash to the closest local and buy whatever fits for saturday Afternoon or Sundays’ riding.
all of the following listed is O’Neal branded gear
Childrens race tops x 6=2 excellent wear, 3 look like they are 10 years old after 2 meetings, i just plain fell to bits.
Race pants x 5, all of them after just one meeting look terrible, stitching coming undone, piling badly, faded yet they are hand washed and babied, will never buy these pants again.
Gloves x 3 pairs, mine great, daughters 1 race and torn, son he outgrew his in 3 months, but looked good after that time.
Boots, wife bought me some 2 & 1/2 years ago, excellent wear for the punishment I dish out to them, comfort level is not high but i have broken them into my wide clodhoppers shape now, never looked like repelling any moisture, but hey if i want dry feet i wouldn’t ride in the wet. Sons 1st pair were O’Neal, got $110 back on them on ebay at 4 months old and in good order, but he wears Oxtars now.
Helmets x 4= good, they are a basic honest helmet design, individual heads need different helmets, I have to shave all helmets to suit my damaged forehead anyway. Daughter loves her latest one.
Kneeguards= best i have tried or worn for a straight guard, cannot speak highly enough of these items.
In comparison my 10 year old Fox pants I wear almost everyweekend, couple of holes but still good.
Sometimes you get good ones, more often they’re not ass good as you would like.
Mr Blue
Hey Mick, when i first get a pair I put them in the sun and then apply liberal dose of Dubbin, then I put them on an walk around for a few minutes, this doesn’t do much but give me a feel for the boot. I reapply Dubbin again after a few days, I don’t wash my boots unnecessarily or after every ride, everything else i do, but not my boots as it drys the oils in the hide out.
I wash them when they get really dirty or the inside is “yeech” I had a pair of Baxters last years like this and a pair of Sidis for over a decade. If i was wearing my old hinged ankle Scotts from 1982 I wouldn’t have to do any of this the mud just fell off, then just pull the bootie out rinse dry and put Mr Sheen on the rest, wonderwhat happened to that whole school of design?, they where bloody great boots for riding and offered the best protection which is why we wear them in the first place.
And when did Gaernes become pronounced “Gernes they were always and will always be “Gay Ernies ” to me.Another hint don’t let your kids choose white boots, they look good in the shop, and that is the last time they will.
Mr Blue
Hey Wikd, nice bike I like the look of them alot, bit of a change from the zooki I’d say too.

sorry to sidetrack ,but I agree the pro-seniors are a good thing until they start really wringing their necks, My little bloke is 7&1/2 and he rides quite aggressively (no idea where he gets that from  ) but until he started getting up it all the time it was fine, then as the warmer months and his ability and size grew late last year/early this year, it started having issues, clutches, stator, forks, rear shock (disgusting setup in the first place) and starter engage gear X3.
and we were up in Moss st Brisbane one arvo, he sat on a KX60 with a shortened link and he was able to lift it off the stand and hold it up easy, and that was thst, he wanted one right or wrong so I looked at a few 65s, and while a better bike (but not hugely so), I ended up getting him an ’00 KX60 basically brand new for $1100, and sold Katie for $1750, changeover goes into a new neck brace, keeps Mum happy.
And as he’ll be on the Div2 ’06 all next season that’ll be enogh drain on the wallet anyway, and he’s the 4th generation competitive “scrambles” rider in our family, big Sis didn’t want to, but her heart’s in BMX, and is almost unstoppable when she put her mind to it and the red mist descends.anyway enough of my late night ramble, good to know there’s a few other “motodads” here.

hey John glad to make your virtual acquaintaince, why Choose? several of us are active in both communities anyway, they seem to be different focus’ anyhow, these blokes are a bit more laid back and “familylike” DBW crew can be fairly fiesty at times, different pubs for different days, I come here to have a break and a quiet giggle, if I wanna blue well I go elsewhere.

No just involved in organisational Risk Management(financial & Public safety and workforce OH&S) at a local government level, and despite it being “drinkin’ acting stupid & going to the pool type” season, everyone refuses to injure themselves, which means i must beA- ahead of the game, due to my hard work & dilligence
B- pure lucky
C- absolute geniusI like to think it is a mixture of A+C, but reality it is more likely straight up B
