G’day Pikey, welcome and nice choice of bike.

At least the kids had fun Mick, and that my friends is the main reason we do it( and the chance to live vicariously through our kids exploits…..
)
WTF is it with KX hoses, if you remember Brentons did the same thing a while back, tore the hose in half.I got away with new piston and rings as well, looks like you will from the pix
Much as I love my 2 strokes, there are some things even the mighty twobanger won’t overcome ….YET.
the riders- all the top blokes are put on 4T by the factories and factory teams, same as the states, why the hell would Honda, Suzuki, kawasaki, promote 2T when they don’t even sell them and even Yamaha who still has the 125 & 250 2T haven’t updated the engines in over 11 years, and the chassis whilst may be alluminium alloy is EXACTLY the same geometry as my ’03.
The tracks- is Mark Barnett, the brain dead bomber still designing them?, anyway it doesn’t matter, the tracks ARE designed for 4T cornering and power delivery, it has been stated as fact everywhere by the designers and builders.
The machines- KTM has the BEST 250 engine around bar none, the sx250 had a broad spread of power with 50 hp in ’06/07, but it’s in chassis designed by Mr Hanky the christmas poo, with a rear suspension designed by Mickey mouses’ dumber cousin.
Put the sx250 or even yz250 engine in a good chassis, put a top 5 rider on it, that’s when the excitement will happen again.
Have the rules changed yet to allow parity in amateur classes yet Mick?
was talk last year of it, I lost track, not an issue in the tiddler classes yet, only the grommets….

Ambiguous enough for you Michael.

Quote:Hehe, part of the fun of the 2T is the constant worry about dinging the pipe. Can’t wait for DI 2TThe brakes are ok. The back is kinda touchy. The front isn’t too bad. Could do with some more feel but I can feed in the stoppie ok using it with just two fingers so maybe I am just being picky.
Rears are shockers aren’t they?
I swapped my front out with honda parts (couresy of TB) and it has heaps more feel now, but i actually know some blokes run oil in the rear pads to stop that “INSTANT” lockup thing.
Yeah the worry of flattening the pipe makes bigger logs a two option thing.
#1- lift the bike over physically
#2- attack the log with the front 4′ in the air at speed and hope to hell the rear doesn’t rebound too quick, seems to work for me….. mostly, unless I’m tired or feeling off then it’s option #1.BC
Newsflash….
WEC rider Josh Green is missing presumed kidnapped, in a totally unrealted case Port macquarie are investigating Bondage equipment being stolen from a local adult shop……..
Shades of Pulp fiction at Micks’ shed….
I dunno you old Knights you’re a bit hard on the gear, look at that pipe looks like it’s been hitting with a lance…
Actually Officer Furious how are you finding the brakes on the YZ?
and yes nice stoppies, bewarned sometimes they hurt on concrete though…

Reed killed it but we are in for a good series. Thought Alessi would have gone better and it will be epic to see him and Villopoto bang bars.
I thought the two strokes in the Lites class would have been quicker off the line but the 4 bangers smashed them!STM
Same old same old, 144cc V 250cc… somehow seems really fair doesn’t it?
Big call in the states for parity capacity racing again.
Glad Chad made it to the Newy SuperX, it is his hometown event after all.
Thanks Chris, he loves the feel of mine when he sits on my bike.
What are the MKIIIs like, I may be interested (depends on the timing) in a set if the young bloke gets his new bike before the order is placed.
I looked on the homesite, but no word of the new design..

I agree ECKS, there are certainly some very piss poor council officers out there whom just don’t give a damn. But many have been crush by a silent system of State overlording everything that’s right for the community and grinding certain councils into a paste, menatlly and emotionally.
I know we have a couple over State authorities that just LOVE reminding us that they tell us what to do, and how we answer to ththem. It’s got so ridiculous, I think if the population of NSW acactually knew how far and deep the State meddles in their affairs they would march en-masse’ and phuk them off
I too would abolish the states in a blink of an eye.
Luckily I work with a great council, our LEP was written by a very switched on Lady, who discovered the holes in the state guidelines and lack of appendices (even though they are referred too in the states’ overarching docs.
Was checked by a regional committee and even though she says it’s unworkable (due to the States lack of proper process in their guides) it is the best we have seen yet.
The problem with most councils is pure funding and passion, the funding is shot to pieces and passion is squashed by Big bro’
I put a rant uip at DBW (& I thought here too) on this. The laws used are actually STATE zoning & Land use laws, combined with STATE noise legislation. Now in no way am I condoning councils actions but sometimes they are forced to act or get pinged by the dept of Local government with the ultimate concerns being administrators put in place of elected officials.
This is way too common in many ways, the NSW STATE government has been passing laws and then abdicating rsponsibilty and MAKING local councils enforce them for them, result Local government looks bad, STATE wankas coe off smelling like roses.
Our compliance officer spends 95% of his time dealing with STATE issues, and even is forced to dob us in, yet his pay comes from the council.
What some of the people round here have done (after a local cse got way way out of hand with a third generation MX track being shut down by a weekend hobby farmer/ big city lawyer using STATE lwas to force council to do his dirty work) is formed a Pro-bike lobby group, every region should do the same and lobby directly at STATE level. The bloody Kyogle club track which I raced at their track as a youngster (and in my opinion is one, if not the BEST N/T circuit in NSW) is also in danger from these phickin’ tin-god wankas coming to OUR area and putting THEIR demands on locals
The fastest vehicle I have ever been a passenger in on a forestry road was at Wedding bells SF (near STMs haunts I believe) a senior management forestor was driving a forestry vehicle at speeds up to the old tonne.
Was & still is from all reports a lunatic behind a wheel, wonder if he’d cop a ticket?
Yep
the logging trucks have been obeying this rule for years….
I’m safe poor widdle 2T would struggle to get past 50kph… 😆
