Nah not Kia, that wouldn’t have been a surprise….

I actually like the xr series and G6 Falcs, they are really well made vehicles and are a good package

    Lifestyle without a doubt here
Both Grandads rode, one competetion scrambles.
Mum rode BSAs triumphs etc, her older brother was a nut and her Dad.
    Most Uncles, some were/are 1%ers
    Dad/Stepfather both
    All my siblings before 5
Me first bike at 4 was a Puch 75 enduro my Grandad brought back from a trip to europe for me.
Raced MX from 5-15, fairly serious at times, got beaten by some of the best ever in the country.
Lived on a big farm back of nowhere, ran the farm mostly for Dad while he worked away, trade off was always had bikes and gear, that was our deal.
Came home from school rode bikes, weekends rode bikes, every second/third weekend raced bikes, left school and home bought road rego bike as well, never had less than 2 in the shed.
Was not as active for 10 years or so on dirt, had 2 CR250s for years that I may have ridden on a mates farm maybe 3 times a year during that period, but was racing/riding roadbikes as well.
Missus Cee has ridden as well, her Dad was a rider until the old blokes Tee-bone and he stopped.
Kids came along, woo-hoo as soon as they could sling a decent leg over (age 4) they had bikes.
Daughter has ridden in 3 years she doesn’t like them anymore…
Young bloke is 12 and on his 8th I think now, he can do his own topend rebuilds and all his own maintenance, he has shied away from MX racing prefers the trail style.
I haven’t ridden my dirtbike for over 12 months this season, I am doing some other stuff and it’s currently getting a bit of a facelift with a difference and all my hobbies are very expensive and lately time consuming….
It’s a blood thing, those that get it know what I mean, those that don’t well, don’t tell them it’s getting a bit crowded out there anyway…..

Not all grips are equal in compounds, young Blokes grips don’t woork with petrol, so he has to be tied and taped, mine defy all attempts to glue, so I am going to rough up my bar ends.

I know it’s good for a giggle, but he has some good points, and Soichiro Honda did on many occassions state he wanted to stop 2T production and concentrate on 4Ts only, and what happened anyway I digress, it was a diversionary tactic on my behalf, have to give you old 4T eccentrics a break now and then you know, besides us 2T fellas don’t need to worry look at some of the recent addtions to the markets, some sweet sweet bikes in there.

One kid is riding still, other has more important things to do, like her hair and getting out of school etc.

next time you’re through yell I will give you directions.

Hey Dennis, how’d ya go with that filthy old 2T you are restoring, those last photos I saw made it look at least showroom condition, with some good polishing at that?

Well that’s how I remember it, and l reckon their best trick was pretending nothing untoward happened, thus pulling the wool over the masses eyes

Fact- old mr SHonda had a philosphy of fourstroke, it was his personal and business model preference, go back to the early 80s, oval piston GPs bikes, twin rods, monstrosities, but still he persisited. Then in the late nineties yamaha used road and F1 technology to build the YZ400F rev monster, the FIM was lobbied by primarily Honda threatening to pull out of all sanctioned events, the old foggies at FIM and AMA took a dive and aquiesed to the pressure and the rule were dictated by Honda mainly so power and capacity advantages were blatantly in favour of the 4T.

a little push marketing and violia the market follows.

now go and adjust your valves and change the oil and filter lads.

BTW 4Ts should make noises like THUMP THUMP THUMP Not Whizz Scream Wirr crunch.

    and they are both fun.

And leave all the maintenance work to the trained professionals, under no circumstances should you attempt to re-ring it at home…..

Take the turn at new Italy onto Glencoe Road, and take the bikes off the utes and ride across to Whiporee, fuel up at Whiporee shop, (very bike friendly) and go exploring west of Whiporee through the beautiful clean easy pine forests.

NB: watch the pine stumps in long Grass, a mate of mine broke his back hitting one on his KTM 250 a few years ago

nearest to Coffs or the best .

Well there are two of the best that begin in Pine plantations one at Tooloom falls, but ends up in proper forests, then there is literally 1000s of hectares at Whiporee area, you could ride there for a lifetime and still not cover it all I reckon.

Best S/T is in Scrub country… IMHO

What’s doing at DBW, heard a rumor last week?

    TB

Dunno what’s the go I know keg shut down his shop, lock stock and all barrels going cheap, apparently a lifestyle decision. I only go there for the political biffo lately….

My build let’s just say due to children, house renos’ work pressures, roadbike time and longboarding the dirtbike build has stalled, have spoken to 2 engineers and looking like the new incarnation of the warlock will be based on a wr250f alloy frame, longstroke 265cc Wide ratio drive unit and some other little goodies. All should be legal and come in at around the 100 kg mark…..

Good to see you fellas are still kicking along nicely…
