Apparently he still rides like a demon. It used to be a good shop a few years ago when there was just him and one other bloke but as they have gotten bigger he seems to have become a bit of a prick so I dont go there anymore
Always seemed to be an arrogant bloke when he was at some of the meetings i was at as a kid, so your comment doesn’t surprise me at all.
Eddie Warren is a name I hadn’t thought of for years, why did he drop out of the scene so quickly, seemed to have the world at his feet last time i read anything about him?

TB
That’s him TB, was a demon on those suzuki RMs when i saw him
There was a little belgain bloke came out here and gave Gall(at his peak too) a heart attack with his speed, he went on to race Paris-Dakar, never can remember his name either. I think he walked away a few years running with several of our trophies from memory
yep that’s who it was TB, Ian Cunnyngham.
Mick I think Pelle G has a bike shop in Victoria now.
Did anyone else see Marty Moates race out here in the eighties? ACU even let him use just the letter “M” on his numberplates.

I’m like Mal, feel nekid on the bike without a pressure suit. I wore “roost armour” back in the day, guess what? it doesn’t actually help as well as a presure suit when you have a big off, cause it’s primarily designed for MX with MX style damage.
As for pressure suits I’ve got a TLD one big open Oxford st type weave but very very cool, I wear either a singlet or in winter a shirt under it.Have had some big offs with roost gear (hard armour) without anything and with prssure suits, and believe me the pressure suits rule when it counts, the elbow guards, the kidney belt, bbig one the spine protector, (reckon that alone saved me a heap of rehab time a couple of yrs back) the flexible nature of the interlocked panels and sections don’t bounce you around like you’re inside a turtle shell.
It’s like boots and helmet, I’ll sometimes wear long shorts, knee protectors, boots, helmet liteweightgloves and the pressure suit on rides with the kids out the river and it’s cool and covered.

First up
CONGRATULATIONS SAMMY & DENNIS
From our family to yours, you’re gunna make an awesome Dad.Secondly, it is as I suspected, we can’t blame people not doing their job correctly at inspection time, that happens here as well with full rego, it’s just laziness on behalf of some clowns.
As system like that is well thought out and we may be able to refine or tweak it to suit and voilia it would be accessible.
BTW I’m not surprised by Menaces post, recognised he had uber intelligence a while backBruce
(just back from a five hour torture ride with Coley from DBW, feeling my age I can tell ya)I work with Public liability laws for a daily crust, and believe me because state forests are a public entity it is almost impossible to even make a letter of claim stick, let alone get it into a court of the realm.
Not the same for Private areas, however again the law protects the landholder moreso than the claimant, it can be done, but the claimant would have to display active contributory negligence on behalf of the landholder.
What I am trying to say that there is a lot of scare stories around, and yes to defend yurself you will be out of pocket (unless spurious claim is found and costs awarded)but they are taing a really long shot trying it on.I actually wanted to hear your opinion from the law-enforcers side Scotty, actually said as much to Greg this arvo, anyway surely we could come up with a working model that would be relatively simple to check.
Viccos have Number plates on rec reg, be like any other plate except when you do a search it would come up “limited rec use the following zones”I also have been thinking that maybe we run the risk of being a bit elitist in our thinking, why couldn’t a bloke on an old IT/PE/Cr etc with the appropriate running gear (full stator kit etc) enjoy our pastime as much as us?
If i took this attitude I’d be venting at all people who only took the sport up within the past 20 yrs, saying “we were here first it’s our sport go away”. Like rec fishing it has grown leaps and bounds and the way I see it the government needs to provide a way to do it within reasonable risk and financial boundaries.I was told there are more off-road riders in this area than footy or cricket players, and I’d believe it, yet they get government handouts en-masse and facilities abound, even going unused for months coasting the general taxpayer and ratepayers, so why not us as well.
I for one will vote for any pollie regardless of colour or fruit variety that takes this on themselves to push.To me it’s reasonably simple, what is going on now is uncontrolled and costs money to police, bring them into the fold and it will be self-funding and more control can be exerted.
1982 model has more power, is faster in a straight line, accelerates to it’s top speed quicker, and arguably has a better rear suspension design.
But it would be silly to deny that the RMZ is quicker on an MX track, but still not a heck of a lot of progress in real world feel or on paper.
and which one is more expensive to maintain over a season of competition? Now of course proper 4Ts like DRs, KLX650s, XRs etc are not the target, but the “2T emulators” that let’s be honest had to lose ground to gain any over a ten yr period. Now in GP2 as well the new 4Ts are 2-3 seconds slower and this is progress?
Nah fourstrokes are for blokes that can’t react quick enough to ride a two stroke….
It’s an old hat argument.
the manufacturers from japan want you blokes to ride 4T, just go with the flow and it’ll all be good.
Me I’ll be buying the second generation of whichever company puts out a lightweight good chassis’d DI 2T.
Quick question for the MX heads, where weight DOES count
If in 1982 a suzuki RM250 weighed 97 kghttp://www.fullfloater.com/specs.html
why in 2010 does an RMZ250 weigh 104 ???
this is progress I assume.

No permit required for full rego bikes?? IE $20 to ride Watagans another $20 to ride Sunny Corner. I dunno how it could be policed or worked even.Maybe broken up into local council areas.
Before anyone howls me down, I was just putting it out there as an idea.Yep mick combined with a bike licence and annual inspections on all bikes, would this be a start?
