First step is undo the front wheel, undo the triple clamps pull the forks and throw into Wheely bin, get some KYBs or Ohlins from late model donors and insert, problem solvered.
Nah seriously Moto get one of those adjustable grinder spanners with one fixed side and the other is hinged, should work from what I saw in the local KTM House of pain (dealer)

I wouldn’t worry if it’s a longitudinal crack Dan, sounds like an internal casting flaw has surfaced with a little wear.
a good vee groove with a grinder and a competent TIG operator and like new again.

This is not a common fault on any modern bike Dan, like TB said casting mark or fault maybe?

Good to see you blokes doing your civic duty and filling in that nasty hole with some abandoned rubbish you found laying around….

I seriously need to buy a tool kit. I used the one that came with the bike and they remind me of tool kit you would give kids to play with as toys….Have to agree, I actually gave the Suxuki and yamaha toolkits to my Son when he was 4, and there is an unopened one in the shed somewhere from our old ’92 ZXR750
Plasticine is always handy, I reckon old Bert Munroe coulda melted them down and made something useful for a motorbike out of them………….

Nice to make your virtual acquaintaince Daisy, an old trials Honda 125 4 stroke, could be worth a couple of K to the right person, but personally if you have any attachment to it, I’d restore the old girl at your leisure.
Nothing wrong with roadbikes, it’s just the other idiots you have to share the road with that took me away from them in the end..

excellent call Roy, KTMs have been doing this for years, you’d reckon word woulda got back to the factory and they’d do something about it by now.
