And that’s exactly why I feel safer when you congegrate in groups, I stop and just listen into the wind and can hear you stampedeing into the valley, which gives me time to find a nice little kangaroo run to hide in.
Although once I get my WR gearbox fitted, I might be able to run with the pack.
A lithe gazelle amongst the thundering elephants………
That the laughing hyenas cannot get too.

Because I felt sorry for you big bore riders and thought you’d be safer in large groups, before those whizz-bang smaller bore valve munchers round yous all up and push you into a tar-pit or something, just after they’ve done the same to us 2T riders. Besides Glenn’s one of the good guys who likes a stir and rides an XR650, where else is he gunna go and feel at home?
Bruce Cee
Gee Mr K. you didn’t muck around getting he
Another Honda XR650 rider too.
at least they’re real four strokes eh Glenn?

I wondered how long it would be be4 a bike was restored while you wait to heal TB, cause that;s what i have done while recuperating from injuries. But in typical TB tyle in doing so you’ve turned it into a good cause, onya Bud.
Some kid is going to be beside themselves on chrissy morning, and that’s priceless.
Actually i’m surprised some Old Bull hasn’t pretended to be a needy kid so you’d fix up their bike for them.
BTW the whole footpeg mounting system on the smallr Yamis needs beefing up as a rule, the daughters TTR90 was a constant fight to keep straight
again good stuff TB

Was diagnosed with cancer in both eyes in my early twenties, left eye done with old fashioned scalpel and cathode cauterise 100% vision restored, right eye done a month later with the (then ) new fangled laser, operation went well, dikwad surgeon forgot to look at my chart and stitched my lense in with dissolving iodine stitches, and I’m highly intolerant of iodine result loss of 90% of my right vision and temporary full blindness for a few weeks until my brain reconfigured.
The 68 yr old opthimologist retired 2 ops later, Laser itself was far superior and I’m hoping that real soon my right eye scarring will be rectified in the next 12 months with a laser, so even with that experience I’LL DO IT AGAIN.
Look after your eyes people cause it has really affected my life in general and my riding in particular, sperception of distance and field of vision and all that, can’t see into shadows or out of shadows and constantly used to hit things with my right shoulder, including other bikes and trees.

Heya WallyBoy, nice make your virtual reaquaintaince as it were.
These blokes are ok, all a bit long in the tooth though…..
Actually I have a feeling I might be in the oldest 10…..

Riding other bikes and making a decision is a pragmatic and sensible way to approach the situation. let me know when you’re free and we’ll go for a burn
That’s what I like to hear a KTM rider saying he’s taking his bike for a “burn”….
But seriously there are some great bikes out there Austblue, try as many as you can and see which one feels right for you, not all of us are the same so what suits you may very well be someone elses least favourite, we ride for fun, so the ride must be fun.
Bruce
Betchya the same bloke who designed the original PDS did your footpeg mounts.
Backwards bloody Eurotrash engineers.
Can you make one if it is a female mount you need? (I know technically it is an ADR issue but)

Dan and TB if you need a hand just yell, My other passion was cabinetmaking and general woodwork, for a lark I make clocks every now and then as presents and thanks yous etc for some of the club and community organisations I’ve been involved with over the years.
Similar thing but usually out of E. Maculata (spotted Gum) or E. Pilularis (coastal Blackbutt what you see in the watties)Red Mahog etc, offcut 12″ x 2″ joinery pieces I have lying around.
Never used a sprocket as the dial face though, sometimes 12″ sawblades instead.
Yell if need be.

It was obvious to me, but we wont all agree :laugh:TB
And that there is the beauty of being US (ie; Aussie and then Old Bulls, we can disagree without getting all upset and all “put a cap in yo ass Mofo” and we like to pull the piss outa one another yet still respect our mates’ views.
I know another XR650 owner in Brisbane whom is also a gentleman, but will defend his beloved winged wonder to the death, and I love that about him, it’s way cool, sorta like Kawasaki Roadie owners used ta be.
“Man what ya ridin’?”
Oh I got a Z1000r
Oh shit sorry to hear ’bout that, you know suzuki and honda and yamaha make good bikes too?
Damn (suzuki/honda/yamaha/ducati)riding Mofo I’m gunna put a hurtin’ on you for dissin’ my Kwaka

Make the great lord strike down upon me and rid me from this planet…..
Occasionally Moto you post something worth it’s weight, and this is one such occassion.
You can strike that one off your citizenship test now
“understands and uses dark sarcasm to best effect”You forgot to mention Moto you can also use them to mix concrete and power generators….

Undersuspended, underpowered, no footpegs & no handlebars…. how the hell do they expect me to ride this thing?
I gotta last Eight seconds to win the prize !!!!!
Oh well that’s beating his record by at least 6 seconds….
No I was ebing TIC (tongue in cheek), remember I have owned real big bore Roadies that still held a line and diced the mountain twisties,, but what I shoulda said is, “do you need more power, or there somehwere else that could use improvement to get you around quicker first” a piece of advice given to me by a ex superbike champ and one time bathhurst contender.
Each has it’s place, Big bores for roll-on lazy power in the bush, nothing wrong with that, just make sure everything else is up to it…. like fer instance a highly modded XR650 that shall reamin nameless eh?
BTW I’m B/Boring MY 2T at next rebuild, so I am being hypocritical to a degree, that’s why it was TIC, already done the suspension and almost finalised the brakes, new W/R gearset on it’s way, so it was the next logical step, not for more powa, but for better torque.
Hows that?
Still think a bush harley is a PIG of an idea
