Bols the first pic in the scrap heap, I believe is an old Elsinore MT, maybe 125/175.
the gun jappa enduro mount of it’s day… possibly never rode one myself and you know how these old blokes exaggerate stuff, probably evil handling and unreliable POS’s truth be known..

It is an Aussie way of saying it’s not taken too seriously, ie; it’s not like wagering the family farm on the outcomes….
Bloody POMs gotta teach ’em Strine…

Phht that’s nothing people have been doing front flips for years………..
Did I remember to mention, thse frontflips were usually wholly unintentionally with prolonged hospital stays afterwards…..
Tried one myself years ago……… it’s all in the takeoff apparently, yeah you don’t takeoff the rebound dampening in the shock and chop throttle just after leaving the ramp……

the above is tongue in cheek, in reality these FMX blokes are highly skilled and completely mad, but with the exception of a few like Maddo and Travis can’t ride outa sight on any sort of trackMA is a carry on from the old ACU and they were bloody highwaymen in charging clubs and riders for affliation, which is why there used to be so many “black” events, so this comes as no surprise to me, unfortunately it is percieved as an eliteist sport by some, maybe to keep the riffraff out………. oh well guess that put most of us out then…
The ones out at UKI were about $5 to enter when I was a younger bloke, and there were prizes too.
Hello Johnno, glad to make your virtual acquaintaince, but you do know that you may have grown up and got a KTM, but when you fully mature you will get over that adolescent infatuation with bright colours and choose something more manly.

Yeah I know Squirrel had a bad week with wall to wall dumbass knowitall knownothings, everything they wreck is someone elses fault and never their own, so condescending salespersons and teachers are on my hitlist ATM.

TB you’re quite creative when you’ve got time on your hands, that was hilarious, mean but hilarious, although that used to be said about the Newcastle area years ago, sisters and Mums and cousins and so-forth.
Mick it’ll be a jetski race now, or drag out the mud buggies.

I don’t just think it’s bike dealers too, Dubbo shop owners in general are pretty bad, maybe it’s just me. The Honda dealer in town is the worst here. I can feel them jeer and heckle me when I leave the shop. Worst shop in town. Pricks.gees Axel they are stoopid persons, just remind them of what they’re doing for a crust, in most peoples eyes a bike salesman is just a notch up from a used car salesman, which is about 6″ below a king browns belly, you can say things like
“gee commision paid Honda bikesales eh? you obviously made some good life decisions”
Or
“now who’s in charge around here or are there just you monkeys without a zookeeper?”I hate condescending people, I usually do the cerebral humiliation thing to them, if they’re real stoopid as well it takes them a while to figure out you’re pulling the piss outa ’em

BCHmmmm, we shall see Mr C. I’m up to day 4 on the D952r and will reserve my opinion until I wear the sucker down. So far so good though. It wasn’t cheap, I’ll tell you that. I’m hoping I “get what I paid for”
Compromise, compromise, compromise.Good luck Mr Axel I only paid $100 for the bastard and it didn’t suit me or my bike one iota.

rear tyres are very subjective, i find that the “footprint” is a big factor in getting grip in many situations, this is achieveable using less of the tyre gauge and more of the “feel. If the tyre sidewall is too stiff it becomes a bit of a problem getting the “footprint” without dropping pressure to a point where sharp hits are transfered straight to the rim.
Most tyres can “customised pressure” to get reasonable grip in lower speed situations, but some are just crap from start to finish (D952 springs to mind here and the Stone king), unfortunately we are all looking for the magical tyre, you know the one that gives the grip of a 14 yr with a playboy mag in front of him, and the longevity of a concrete gnome.

I tell you what TB you’re a productive bugger when you’re not working……..
I’m gunna tell a few mates as u never know at that price…. what’s the weight limit on them?
Bruce
yeah good one Kylie, a heap of males locked up dressed only in underwear, sure your imagination isn’t running a bit overtime?
Apparently Akrapovic (sp?) make a pipe for the KTM300 now as well, but the R304 shorty or the FMF shorty are tried and true power shifters, I seem to remember Mr Menace has one on his as well.
you obviously don’t need to play with your static timing as the CDI has the ubeaut inbuilt function. The triple taper needles were the go on the 38mm carb, does the ’10 run a 36mm still or have they finallty realise they sacrificed too much and gone back to the 38mm?
a Spacer in the header section has been rumoured to improve torque as well, anywhere betwix 3-7mm, not sure how difficult they are to turn up for the newer models tho’.
You’ll have to bring it up for one of Robbos “crap” border ranges rides, or even down to Napalm Springs’ death resort with a few of us, and see how she performs in the heat.

Dear Moto young man, in no way was I being adversarial besides the GB Snr comment, which isn’t aimed at you, but any casual observer who has predisposed opinions on a 2T limitations, and as we both know when we post anywhere prying eyes are ensuring this (much as we think it is) sometimes is not just a converstaion between a group of mates, but more like a conversation in the foyer of ASIO….
(damn them spies) even 4t blokes read our verbal meanderings and gnash their dullard teeth together…..
More or less in agreeance and offering hints for the convert, yeah I ran a red spring wound flush, very lean pilot, a NOZ needle (which I’m not sure works on the smaller carbs), advanced timing, short FMF silencer, cut head and made it as vicious as I could off idle. This does make the engine less docile but is no MXer in that regard.
The top gear issue I ran tall final gearing too, as I found 1st far too low anyway, conversely my YZs 1st is a bit tall sometimes, and the final ratio is way low, but i was thinking about it, I have ridden road almost as long as dirt and have no issues about running on the pipe on transport as i find it smoother and more “controllable to use in the fat of the power, the sound and vibes doesn’t peturb me once you’ve ridden 4T singles and 2T twins at a constant 10k rpm on the blacktop
Next hint get real agressive on that rear brake pedal, then the front will come into it’s own as well, the beauty of a light bike is the ability to perform gymnastic manouvres using the controls to assist you.
And again nice choice, pity it took you so long…did I ever suggest a smoker? specifically a 300?
Bruce
Hello Mr Cee, glad to make your virtual acquaintance, and another member of the 2T brethren as well, hallelujah and praise be the mighty Smokers…….
