I just read the blurb Mal put up… PMSL to the max, ok not tea and scones but get a load of this for close

Take in some of the fantastic roads through the National Parks and beach-side towns that Sydney is famous for. The drive routes enable you to thoroughly enjoy the cars as well as the scenery.

Drive 5-cars including a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Lotus Exige S and Aston Martin Vantage in a fantastic day out of Sydney.

“The day begins from approximately 7:30am in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney with a morning coffee and pastries followed by a safety briefing where the format of the day is explained. Thereafter, drivers will split into pairs and be allocated the first of the 5 cars they will drive. A support car will lead the group and maintain radio contact throughout the day”.

Almost so stereotypical it’s folly Sik

Lots of Bored people go fishing TB, just usually a boat is involved and funny looking little lures and as long as the boat isn’t a 60′ schooner owned by the company I’ll respect that :P

I also heard that XR650R riders usually drive deisels B) .

Well as much as I would like to continue to talk about this social dichotomy I think it will be best saved for the day we can chat about it over a few beers, words don’t always read the same when on a screen and it’s easy to lead someone down an unintended path.

Besides, it’s too much typing

easier done in conversation the leading up a garden path manouvre’ as you don’t give pause for pro-active thinking to your fellow debator.

Sounds like a good idea, I’ll be the quiet unassuming one offering no opinion, whilst blending into the atmosphere with no physical presence at all… ;)

I’ll then relate the story of the two tribes of humanity and it’s related theory.

Hard work is more than just physical work. Hard work is striving to achieve a goal and putting the time and effort in to get to that goal. We live in a highly devloped country that offers some of the best education and benefits of any country in the world.

Personal experiences and exceptions to the rule aside, there is no reason why anyone in this day and age can’t educate themsleves (or not if they choose not to) and achieve good things if they really want it. A lot of wealthy executives have made sacrifices to get where they are, this is often not seen or realised by lamen.

There are the exceptions where people grow up with a spoon in their mouth and also exceptions where honest people work hard all their lives to no real end and still struggle by, but the fact remains, you (as in Australians) have some of the best chances out of of the entire human species of doing well.

Cars, like any other superficial object are all personal preference. I’ve had high powered cars I’ve poured thousends into but still prefer, and aspired to own, the likes of the cars mentioned before, although I will likely never own any one of them. I’ve worked hard, have a good job and still can’t afford it, but that’s life. I had the opportunity to earn lots more money but it would mean sacrifices I wasn’t wlling to make. My decision.

Yes those who have had the opportunity always use that similar if not direct argument, but there are many exceptions. Executive often are appointed by way of what board they are already on, at that level cronyism isd more rife than at middle-junior management level where references and skills are more important, now i am actually staing this from personal observation as I have worked my way from one whose opportunity was not realised at a younger age due to many factors outside of personal control, and yes those whom strive and work cereberally hard, if you notice Moto i said Physically and MENTALLY meaning both. I am not a reverse snob just see life as unjust more oft than not, talent alone will get you nowhere, Talent and hardwork CAN but don’t assure sucess, but priveledge WILL assure financial sucess almost undoubtably. I have been lucky enough to have been on both sides of this fence, working jobs that take a definite mental and physical toughness to go back to each day just to survive for sweet fanny adams in return and others where you can’t honestly believe someone pays you big $$ for what you do, until you become disgusted with the hypocrisy and self promotion around you you leave and have to cleanse yourself of that by finding yourself in helping other less fortunate, and then you can go off and rape and pillage again.

It’s not a big deal the world is full of hypocrisy, all of us are hypocrites, it’s just were we draw our own personal line at, and my line may not be the same as anothers…so be it, personal decision.

too many judge sucess by the car you drive and your postcode, I judge it on your funeral day or in times of duress at the quality of person who stands by your side as to who you are to them and what you have done to gain their loyalty, your family your children, your willingness to stand up for what you believe is right to your own personal detriment, those whom came before us to fight for those opportunities that you and so many others, myself included enjoy, and actually become arrogant enough to believe WE fought and worked hard for. The fuedal system is slowly but surely becoming staedfast in it’s dominance of society dividends again and this time it is not through blood letting as such but economic disparities. There is a story of two tribes and anology to human developement from mans origins that is half fact/half philosphy and i worry that the wrong tribe will destroy all that is truly right before the altrustic tribe can regain the influence again.

It all boils down to an age old struggle between societial rights and individual wishes.

I still because of my burnt Psyche view all porshe’ and Audi TT owners with a high degree of cynicism as I have been privy to some of their thoughts and views, and it ain’t pretty inside some of those heads.

Sorry but I’ma socialist at heart hardened by several “born to the manor” 2nd and 3rd generation wealthy bosses who have uttered things whilst in my company (thiking I was one of them undoubtedly) like “well what’s wrong with $450 perweek, gee it’s plenty to get along on” and this is in sawmilling were blokes work there guts out for generations of labourers and at the end get fired because their bodies are too buggered to perform any longer. They started at 15 give 40 hours of gut and back breaking physical work to the employer and almost to a man get screwed.

Maybe the other industries aren’t like this but this was harsh reality in this and many other parts of the regional areas, and while no-one ties you down, the education levels were not there for many to make the change, luckily for I I was able to re-educate myself before i ended up like so so many of them. Then to add insult to injury the only thing they knew how to do was taken away by a Lobor governement in the mid to late ninties appeasing the voting public in faraway cities who had pre-concieved media driven ideas about timber workers. The only time we saw a late model Audi or Porsche was when a bosses son drove it to the home town after his last yachting trip, and how hard much work he had to do sailing around the south pacific, and if you evere read this Mr Bob E yes I mean you.

I begrudge no-one the spoils of hard work, but hard work and effort don’t always get rewarded in our current system and if you believe it does, well the world I’ve lived in just ain’t like that.
And long hours doesn’t mean hard work it’s just long hours, crikey i done long hours 80-90 hours weeks but they were a doddle just time. Hard work leaves you physically and /or mentally drained no matter how long you’re at it.

I think australia is becoming more Americanised in this area where those who have often get it off the sweat and effort off others who reap very little of the profit and the reaper then shows it off Ostentiously.

And Moto personally I don’t lust after any of those cars just cars you buy, what personal input do you have in building or making it your own, just me I guess I like to use something i have made my own through input or engineering, but they still look nice cruising the promenades…

Byt the way this is not an aggrssive post just tsome of the views of a lifelong Fabian Socialist, who loves his countrymen and wishes better for all, not just the few.

Ahem Mr Menace, machinery is usually given female monikers so
Jaime Sommers would be better, you’d only call your bike a blokes name if you were Ghey and liked riding Steves.
not that there is anything wrong with steves, or even ghey steves, in fact some of my best friends are named Steve and they may or may not be Ghey……….

I’ve never had a problem with anything from Aldi, the bacon is good, cheese ok, Chips are tops and the best US style peanut butter ever is there, but the rest is subject to my Motto. “BUY ONCE AND BUY WELL” doesn’t haven’t to be a ripoff, but must be suitable for my use, nothing worse than struggling with substandard gear, it can end up costing more than you saved. Aldi stuff might be hit and miss, but you never know what catches your fancy I s’pose, I will reserve my judgement.

Ollie my Mitutoyos are really close in read to my Micrometers reads, so the battery is good value to resurrect them.

ATM repco has 2 cans for $4.99 for all you show ponies…tyre shine on a dirtbike :silly:

what next armoural on your seats  .

Pressure washing and wash’n wax after every ride.

Poms on KTMs…what is this country coming too :X ,

Why when i was a lad.

*Tyre shine was a substance only known by dodgy moustachioed second hand carsales men by the name of Mario who loved Fiats 124s and Torana XUIs

*We washed our bikes in the creek, lotsa elbow grease and only a few fish and penny turtles died, and the snakes didn’t mind too mind

*My stupid idiotic 6’4″ mate used armoural on his Roadbike seats to scare pillions stupid (actually he didn’t need to do that he could do it by just taking his helmet off and standing up straight

*And POMs rode BSA bantams into the 70’s telling us how they were so superior to our Japanese bikes, after we had flogged them in timed laps…on an MR50 at 7.

and economy never seems to be an issue, or getting genuine services and parts every few weeks and who cares about trade-in prices???

to answer Boony yes it’s all pre-tax and depreciation, and if they need it they need it, just not a Full on top o’ line Monaro like one of my old Bosses bought himself and then got given as part of his severance deal in his redundancy, that he knew was coming up when he authorised it for himself 2 months earlier.
