Nice bike Gidders, they get better looking each year….. was one of the founding members of the Church of the 300 a few years back myself, but I departed from the brethren of the exc(ess) and went back to fundamentalism 2T, although I do hear a EG295cc kit whispering in the wind…

I like fourstrokes that are designed around the inherent and natural strengths of the powerplant,
*reliability
*good torque
*Longevity
*Quiet operation
*tractable delivery
*ease of everyday maintenance
*Good fuel comsumption
*Value for dollaranything else I think you all know my thoughts on that Turkey shoot.

I reckon Yamaha are very smart cookies, they have also got the softer version of the 250 the WR250R, also they are the only Jap manufacturer to retain the 250 2T MXer in their lineup, and they instill reliability in their reputation. I say this as a Bloke who used to dread throwing a leg over anything with a tuning fork on the tank.
I still have a soft spot for Suzukis’ but I think their marketing section is lacking appropriate testicular development

Again in the true Aussie fashion, quality is overlooked by quantity, if they were 2000 posts of well written humourous anecdotes with no input from the lager bottle I would be overwhelmed….. at it stands i am merely impressed.
good onya Menace
I also enjoy the chronicles of Seppomenace the international man of Misery.

I have a soft spot for suzukis, traditionally they have had the steering and suspension on the the others, the motors are always a bit softer but always reliable, the RMZ450 is possibly the pick of the crossers in these fields still. I agree with Mr TB what doughhead at Suzuki wants this to fail, cause that’s what it looks like to me, and ADRing is not really a huge issue all the gear is on other models already and would cross-over well.

So’s being put in an iron maiden or in a stock and pelted with rotten fruit but you won’t see me rushing to do that either……..
Wonder how the old Pope up there would go in a bit of S/T?

So Moto have you bought that 200EXC yet or what, we have some killer tight technical S/T for it when you’re up this way…
great bikes they are too, even with the pooey pogo suspension….

No didn’t buy them new, but I see that Pope suspension musta been the forunner of PDS eh, maybe 2 generations of developement back?
(BTW I not that fast, just been going slow for really long periods of time, Sorta a “can’t ride fast, can’t jump very far, can’t stop quickly sorta bloke actually and because you’re not middle-aged yet Moto, why would you take offence at my jibes and slings?, you’re young and got your whole life in front of you yet, time to get better, whereas for I it’s all downhill from here)
anyway back to Popes, they made excellent lawnmowers apparently too.
2 strokes at that!!
I have a few Pope products at home from the same era, they specialised in trade tools of the time.

Have you got the dimensions LC4, there maybe be other modelsthat fit from even another brand, I have a few honda, kawasaki and Yamaha ones in a tim at home, I make drifts out of them.

generic wheel setup on the yamahas, they will interchange with other models, so they probably come out with two holes drilled Ex supplier. But also don’t forget braking causes tube creep as well, and lets face it 250f riders can be late brakers.
BC
The magura Clutch setups have a good rep for non-failure, however I do know that sometimes people put the wrong fluid into them and it reacts with the seal materials and causes problems.
My 300s had 200 hours of riding on it and 4 years of sitting and still worked like new, maybe the QA or component quality is dropping a bit.BC
Only a kidney.. a mere kidney, why when i was alad we would’ve given a lung for a teaspoon of dripping:( kids these days don’t know how easy they got it….
