So sorry to hear of Mals passing, a true gentleman and great bloke. Never was the quote “Only the good die young” more appropriate.

Its humbling to read the tributes especially TB’s, so thanks to those who have taken the time to share their thoughts that help paint a picture of the kind of man he was.

I have two mates who want to come after I told them about this, myself aswell. One is a member the other has joined in case you need to be. I reckon it’s a great idea even if you think you can change a tyre OK.

Do we just rock up or do we need to be put on a list ???

in reply to: Power Balance Silicon Wrist Band #162679

I have been wearing one of these for a few weeks now as has my wife. I can pass on a couple of interesting outcomes. Now it may be a placibo or it might actually work. We both do yoga 1 night a week ( go on laugh now !! ) and the benefits of that alone have been awesome. More flexability, useful relaxation and breathing techniques, core strenght etc. ( no its not just for our sex life !! ). My wife couldn’t do some of the more difficult balance excercises in the couple of months we had been doing Yoga, with the P/Balance she can manage heaps better and hold them longer. We gave one of the older ladies in the class a demo on them and she tried an excercise she could never do before and nailed it first time, she was blown away. I will say the apparent increase in flexability comes at a cost the following day as our bodies were sore from the increased extension of our stretches.I can for a fact tell you there are some top sports people who use these in some form but dont always show it for competetive reasons, a very well known SX MX aussie was seen slipping something from his riding gear into his jeans when changing after a practice ride.
They are available in other forms than the wristband as the website shows, discs, cards and necklaces.
I’ve had my share of breaks, ops and pins/plates and have had a nagging hip pain that varied in intensity but was always there at some level of discomfort for several years now, chiro and yoga helped but it was still there. Now I fitted my wristband on a thursday night at the plaza after buying it at Krank and bugger me if an hour later when I went for the climb into my van, waited for the usual discomfort, and bugger me if it didnt come. Like I said dunno if it’s our imagination but we dont take them off for anything now.
Also someone mentioned above about the magnets, I think these P/balance people believe the magnets have a detremental effect ( why wouldnt they ! its competition ) may wife mentioned it after browsing their website.
No I don’t get a cut for any sales !!

Thanks for the tips. I got a question does this technique work with those decals that have a removable side on the underneath and a clear plastic on the outside that is peeled away after the decal is applied-to leave only the decal behind?? I got a Montesa 248 Cota one to do its about 3ft long and goes from the tank down to the side plate to under the seat, and I am worried about muffing it

    Thanks
    llewdaert

It should work, the only decals we have been advised not to do with the wet method are reflective ones like used with road signs and some signs we do on vehicles and for roadside etc. I would give it a go as the decal is pretty long and would be tricky to keep in alignment even for someone with experience. You wouldnt try and remove the clear protective layer until maybe the next day as it might lift the decal itself away from the surface. Once you have removed it wave the heatgun over it again and make sure its all down in contact with the surface. Remember use a pin to remove any obvious bubbles by squeezing the air out after pricking the little sucker. Smaller less obvious bubbles should disperse within a few days as the moisture evaporates. I would be careful not to heat the decal too much with the clear protective layer still on as it might act like a shrinky and curl up or melt.

Welcome and good taste in bikes Mr Cee.. Have you got a sticker kit sorted out for it yet…

I should we have some of the shapes in the system, I’m guessin you have a 300 as well ? what gearbox oil do you and your fellow 2 strokers run in the them ? I have lots of trouble finding neautral when I pull up with the engine running

Mr Cee on my 07 300 I have been running ATF Dex3 with good results. I found that the synthetic Motorex stuff was a bit notchy going into gear. I change my oil every 5-6 rides

    Ollie

Thanks heaps for that , I did read some banter on the oil thing in an older thread, I might give it a go. I have also heard good reports on the GRO brand that solo is bringing in. I am using the premix and it seems good stuff, the bike seems to run cleaner with little smoke on start up.

Craig that’s a treat of a thread mate, 2 thumbs up although Kylie was keeping those graphics a secret till the bike was finished

I have said it before fitting graphics to some of the wicked bends and shapes is nothing but bloody witch craft

    TB

Opps sorry bout that, I guess it doesnt compare to seeing it all bolted on the bike though , just a sneak preview. PS when was/is your op ?

just a decal that suits down the side of the front guard. Havent had to template the whole front guard yet , forks or the headlight. We also have side number panel areas. If we had the plastics here for a few days we could template them up with the hope some other beemer owners might need some bits done. Its pretty time consuming templating shapes.

Nah wish it was bourbon tho

in reply to: Applying Graphics #158658

like I said a bit of experience, just gentle heating and use of the squeegee , sometimes lifting carefully and going again. Its a bit of experience that keeps you looking ahead for potential problems also which keeps you outa trouble.
PS we have some shapes for the beamer ie shrouds rear guard swingarm and siddee of front guard, rears a tough one to apply though I think.
