Quote:Yes, going up Tunks in the first 3Km of riding on the first day probably wasn’t the wisest choice. Hauling 9 bikes up slippery rocks certainly got everyone’s blood flowing! The first 45 minutes = 3Km’s from the cars
many logs down on tunks ?, last time I attempted it there was logs down every few metres

a soft 4wd (Rav4, Crv, X-trail etc) with either a Ezimotow or a folding trailer (due to my limited storage for a real trailer)or a dual cab (4×2 or 4×4) of some description.

Quote:Hi MudratHave you considered an Extra Cab. I have a Toyoat Hilux 96′ extra cab and it has been amazing. I have 510000 clicks on a 2.8 diesel and just got back from another epci camping trip.
No dropping the tailgate to load bikes as the tray is full size yet it still has a surprising amount of room in the back seat. It does only have seatbelts for four but I have had adults in the back for up to three hour drives and they were fine so kids are not an issue.
You can get one of newer vintage than mine with less k’s for the money you are talking about.

thanx for your feedback, but I need the dual cab, access to rear seats for disabled son.

from what I’ve read you will need to have the tailgate down. You also need to secure the rear wheel and tailgate.
should probably add what I meant by “drive into the forest” I intend to stick to general access roads only to get to picnic spots etc
thanx Guys, will check out both the Hilux and rodeos, but have been told by a few ppl that the rodeo’s are pretty thirsty ?
I ended up gettig a pair of one industries “armada” mx Gloves, cost me $59.00.
but after wearing them on a two day ride around clarence a few weeks back, I’m more than happy with them.
I won’t be able to make it, 22nd is the day I finish my holidays
