Aaron, it sounds like you need to get a date sorted so that people can try and plan things and see if they can attand. You will struggle to get poeple confirmed with ‘May’ as the ride date :) I’m not having a dig, just trying to help out mate :)

and an indication of likely ride grade.

and yes I’m interested depending on grading.

I got a new pair of Fox (full fingered) mountain bike gloves for christy. Most comfy gloves Ive ever had. They lack protection on the back of knuckles but thats what barkbusteres ars for.

Not sure how much as mate gave them to me and he owns bike store.

I agree about the fox MTB gloves I have set of fingerless ones Ive had for ever best damm Pushy gloves I’ve ever owned.

I have barkbusters and still managed to almost loose a finger and get stabbed in the Bicep.

so will be definitely looking for some knuckle protection

Yeah Thanks Mudrat. I’ve been thinking of their 50 – 50 tyre. It’s a 130/80/18. looks like it will fill the role I want a tyre to do. Although I’ll have to go a touch slower in the loose stuff.

My bike came with Metz. Mc karroo’s on board. I had ALL kinds of pushing drama at the front. This thing would Washout on a toothpick rut. Just before it was time to replace the rear, i was playing with suspension a bit, not much, just a tiny bit of click here and back off spring there etc. And found the front tyre actually had more to offer than i thought.I replaced the rear with a Dun.952. I got some “serious” hook up from it, again I had to re-adjust susp. again to stop the karroo front washing. Replaced the Karroo front with Dun.952. Awesome grip compared to the stock. New rear is Now a MOTOZ Tractionator. It’s Softer than i thought it would be. Tracks up something ridiculous, in hard rocky, crumbly ground. Is a slip n slide machine on hardpack/ fine sandy stuff. And on holidays in slippery muddy stuff. This tyre has some serious side of tyre grip and gets out of a corner well. Good tyre but not going back for another. I’m considering a Mich. desert safari next..maybe, for the distances i do on bitumen. I guess its a trade off to reach the compromise of the “Best for what I do”.
menace, I used to use trials tyres on an old XL500 s. They lasted ok. for the amount of Road/dirt I was riding at the time. 65/35. I haven’t been able to find one Wide enough for the 610 rear…have been giving it some thought though. Ones I have seen have been dear too.

Have you tried a Mitas E-09, I had one on my 625, for adventure rides.
quite alot of the adventure guys like them, plenty of info on the net about them especially on http://www.advrider.com/forums/

    I got mine from here

    I get a monthly newsletter from Ktm.com.

in the last one I recieved they where talking about the new S12/M12’s.
Apparently they are to be the same tread pattern, but with a more durable compound.
Hav’nt seen any other mention of this, just thought the guys that like them would be interested.

As for tyres I use either a Dunlop 952 or Bridgy 602 for the rear and 952 or bridgy 401 for the front
    ride mostly watties.

    Think about it.

If you’s been standing there for 12 bloody hrs, would’nt you need a lie down too.

(don’t have possums or cats do you, I had a possum in my shed once, bloody thing decided to jump from a great hieght on to my 450 which was resting agins 2 other bikes. the resulting carnage took me hrs to clean up.)

anyway I’m of to work :(
