Cheers Eags
I can’t take credit for the idea, though.
Was passed on to me from a good friend, (don’t have many, guessing Mal) can’t remember who it was but I love the idea.
Only a couple of ways it would be easier and that is to mix the filter oil with suitable thinner and spray it on so that the thinning agent disolves and leaves only the oil. The other is get some one else to do it. 👿
I did use a spray on filter oil for most of my last bike (525). It was still going strong after 16000kms.
Cheers
MurphWelcome back anytime, Gazza.
We might be organising a “Basin Run” in a couple of weeks.
This will be grade 3-4 with grade 5 variants if ya want.
Keep an eye on the Ride Gathereings section
Cheers
MurphTurpentine for me with Motul air filter oil
I have been using that for recipe for many years
When we bought my son, Tims first bike (KX60) we washed his filter in petrol and it literally dissappeared in my hands.
Like Iva, I also recycle the turps a few times, using the settling procedure and I also use a rag to filter most contaminants when pouring back into the bottle.
Another tip is to apply the new oil to the filter through a squeezy tomatoe sauce bottle. Someone told me that recently and it works a treat. I then place it in a plastic bag and fondle/caress it gently to get even coverage.
Will have to try one of the proper cleaners such as the one Lefty is selling to compare.
Cheers

Too right Eags. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Why grow up whenya don’t have to.
Surfing keeps ya young as does riding with your young bloke. (which I do love)
Tide has changed though. Now its time for him to show me the hard lines.
Thats what he has done with Razorback.
I am sure I rode up that about 30 years ago. It was nothing on what it is today.   :woohoo: 👿
hey I rode everything that the young fella’s did
Just that I was the only one with a camera.
If I ever had to do a hardcore ride, I would love to have Thrillseeker,CJ and my kid, Tim, always there.
On saying that there are a whole lot of good blokes out there.
Starting with my very good mate,Mal (Dive buddy, Spearfishing buddy, Canyoning buddy, Rock climbing buddy, this bike riding thing still doesn’t have the buzz of hanging halfway off a 200m cliff to call it for a lunch break. Gotta love the memories.
Seems as though the apple don’t fall all that far from the tree.
Young Tim has been climbing indoors for a year or more now
I did take him out on the real stuff just the other weekend, top roping of coarse.
He, as I expected out climbed me. As it should be.
Ya gotta let the younger gen have a go and thats exactly what he doing. Tried to hang on to mydomination for too long.
I am gettingslower, weeker, older whilst Tim is getting fitter, stronger and more intelligent
I don’t even know what started this waffle
hey Eags, Plase say G-day to Prosso
Cheerio
Murph, still lovin da surf. 👿 👿   Ha Ha HaSorry, no help here
Just had a mate sell a 2011 4fiddy
He opted for the 250 2T Six Day, and seems to be loving it. :woohoo:
Shame, as it had bugger all kms on it
MurphHave taken the family to the Newy SX in the past.
It really is a show for all, not just for us bike junkies
If ya’s get a chance, go and have a look. For these blokes are truly mad gladiators.
Cheers
Murph the surf.

CheersHope you didn’t run out of fuel just taking it easy home. Tim was saying that your fuel light was on before you left us at the top of the mountain???
Maybe some issues to look at if considering the new WR, hey?????
Truly hope ya get these issues sorted, Looselink
We did about 70 odd kms before we hit the servo at Freemans
It was there that I put in 6 litres and even the thirstiest 2T, CJ, put in 9, (yes he was getting close)
Anyway, ya do what ya gotta and I have been known to carry fuel on my back whilst riding the old 525.
Lots of hippy lovin
Murph da surfrazzle wrote:There’s some great shots of hard stuff in there!!Feel a bit sorry for the guy on the old PE  Champion effort though on such a classic

Feel welcome for the next one, Razz
We are always there to lend a hand at the harder spots, as I hope you would be for me?
Gotta love the OB spirit.
:woohoo:
Which is really just another way of confirming Karma (what goes around comes around)  👿
Because of my 48 years, I have tended more towards the photogrophy than lending a helping hand on the slings. But, on saying that I will always try and be there if needed. Will leave no one behind.
After all thats what my young fella (Tim) is for.
Cheers
Hope to seeya sign up one day
Murph the surfJust been looking at those shots of Razorback and it is plain to see that it is hard to show how steep it is through the lense of a camera. The trees are still leaning over which makes the hill even steeper than portrayed.
Putting this together almost took as long as the ride.
:silly:
Cheers
Murph
CJ nailing the top stage of Razorback
Thrillseeker nearing the top of such an iconic hill
Yeeha
Me
Thank the gods
A good shot on what we climbedThats all folks
Just when you think your too old to learn new tricks, you try another hill and nail it. (gotta be happy with that) :woohoo:
Tim has already thought of another hill to add.
I guess the next one could be called 5 hills and a footlong
By the way, the four hills we did were the major ones. There were a hell of a lot of other challenging climbs amongst it.
Cheers
Murph the surf
Rock on
