Good onya Mick
Hope to seeya out on another ride soon
Always welcome on our rides mate
Cheers
MurphAfter lunch I tried to ring my kid, Tim. He had an exam to do at tech and was thinking of linking up for the arvo session. Silly mobiles, no reception.
Anyway we headed around to the southside. Did the rutted orange clay hill and then onto Tim and my little single which lead us up to Amazon. Surprisingly Tim was there waiting for us.
I was glad because I could tag team him and let him carry on the Murphs ride.
It was here that some us lost our heart to go up. Maybe it was me who planted the seed but Mal, Thrillseeker and Dude were also not too keen to ride up Amazon.  Much to Mr Rules dismay.
We rode up to stage 1 to help Bob up and wished Chris, Tim, Galey and Bob good luck then headed for home. Most of us did the little erzberg quarry test and then around to do some of the Awaba singles which are getting a little chewed out but still great fun.
A swim in the pool and a cold beverage was had waiting for the “A team” to arrive home and then it was all over.
Thanks again to Al, Mick, Ben, Galey, Bob, Chris, Mal, Sam, Ev and Tim for making it what is was. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Cheers
Murph
P.S. Please feel free to correct my view as I was not always in the pack where the fun is.
Thanks KTM_Rules for posting so many pics
Thanks for the the other pics and bits to everybody elseDay 2
Again we started with bacon and egg rolls, I should of opted for cereal but with the smell of bacon on the barby, well you know what I mean.
Dude showed up and Thrillseeker not far behind. Everyone geared up and we were off.
Did the Arcadia single and crossed the main road and that was where we stopped.
Bob was missing something from the head of his engine and it was spewing out oil and KTM_Rules machine had broken a hose clamp on the radiator, so we limped back to my place for some shed engineering. The KTM was an easy fix, fitting a new hose clamp but Bob’s bike was a little more testing. His bike was missing a plug where the decompression cable would of gone. After bandying a few ideas around Bob was happy with a bolt wrapped with plenty of thread tape forced into the hole. We even drilled a hole through head of the bolt and secured it with tie wire. A true mix of shed and farm engineering.
We were then off again, dropping into the railway cutting and out through Tims singles. Some had issues with a wrong line taken at the water crossing but everbody made it through and I think most did the rock step up with ease. Into Tims newer single which was tight but did have a nice little up hill off camber challenge at the end. More singles following the old rail line and into another of our freshly made singles. This one had plenty of logs to scamper over so I’m sure everbody was warmed up by then.
Yet more new singles were riden before riding through the tunnel at Awaba.
A hell of a lot of rubbish had been dumped out that way since we were there last and I wish the dirty bastards would wake up to themselves.  This is a beautiful country, lets try and keep it that way.
Out past the Westlakes Moto X track and around under the freeway to K9. This hill is getting rutted badly but we all got to the top eventually. It was here that I handed the reins over to Mr KTM and he showed us some fresh new singles through some great technical gullys and hills. One hill climb was not done by Mal, Dude and myself so I will have to get back out there with Tim and have a descent go. Plenty more singles before lunch at the Gap.
To be continuedWelcome any time Galey and crew
If you make it here again we will do a Basin Run on the first day and more hills after Amazon on the next day. We still have shit loads of challenging trails out there.
Glad everybody enjoyed themselves
Cheers

MurphGood one Mal.

Heres my take on the first day.
Day 1
Started with bacon and eggs and then it was off down to the meeting point
Everybody was on time which was great
I decided to let KTM_Rules lead as he wouldn’t hold anybody up on the hills and we talked out the route I had in mind. Did the first single with a few boys getting caught at one section. Crossed the main ridge road and down into Boyds (Panadol hills). Some got through on the first attempt, others on their second and some needed assistance. Well done fella’s. Then it was off into a newish single which meandered its way through the forest linking up with the original single heading north. Prick hill caused a bit of greif for some as the pics show. Good to see some other guys carrying slings and most got in to help each other out.I remember riding down one mesh hill and talking to BiggerAl69r and he described how he got thrown off and his bike endoing down to the valley floor. Lucky he’s a big bloke and he just brushed himself off. Bike was OK so everybody continued the steep, slippery climb up the other side.
Saw Ev in a horrible rutted mud hole and we put a sling on his bike to drag him out.
We rode some more singles and ejected a little earlier than I had planned but KTM_Rules new exactly where to meet up with Hitchcocks so all was cool. Hitchy’s has been cleared (thanks to the hard work gone into that, who ever it was) and we all made it to the bottom without too much drama (I think). Lunch was had in the shade where it was cooler and then it was up Whitemans where nearly everybody had issues somewhere.
The best being Ev’s attack at the very first step. He lined it up and hit it with gusto but a split second later he had let go of his bike launching at Galey. Ev managed to jump back down the step and his bike seemed to be alright but it did make for some exciting viewing. I remember Bob yelling out “nailed it” causing laughter from the crew. Glad you were alright Evan. Like I said nearly everbody had an off somewhere up that hill.
Mine was when I took the lead back and had forgotten about stage 3 to the hill. I came up to the rock step too fast and when I down shifted and hit it the gas the big girl just spun and didn’t lift forcing me straight into the ledge. Looking around I embarassingly saw some of the crew and then Galey came to my aid. (thanks mate) We put a rock at base of the step and we all took turns one by one slowly getting to top of this section.
It was more single sections, then down Zig Zag and around to Woose hill. I think Chris, Sam and Tim made it to the top with Galey also having a couple of cracks but with no luck. I showed the boys the chicken track where I needed a little help (thanks Thrillseeker). We all bunched up at the next little obstacle and I took photos of most coming down the step off. Galey took a little coaxing to trust his machine but he did it eventually. Others walked their bikes down to the right.
From there it was down to the bottom of Maculata where there were 4WDS looking like they were going to camp the night. Man they make a mess of the tracks. Back up to Watagans Forest Drive where Galey showed me he had a rear flat and he rode it back to the cars like that. We had only covered about 58kms but that’s not too bad with a crew of 11.
Fairwells were said to some and I lead the rest of the boys back to my place where I gave Galey a rear tyre as his was looking a little out of shape. He also swaped his exhaust with another as that one had coped a huge hit and was crushed pretty bad.
I organized dinner and Mal did the BBQ duties, we all sat and ate home made hamburgers watched the footage from the day and were in bed by about 9:30
Cheers

Galey, Bob was talking about the tree rooted hill on the right before you go down through the slush near the top.
