Hey Hatto
I guess a compression test would be a good indicator of when a top end rebuild is iminent. Also if starts sounding rattly.
Just checked the 525 manual and it says that if any part of the brake discs are worn beloww 2.8mm its time to replace them. We have just changed my sons rear disc on the KTM 200 at 2.25mm so I guess there is a bit of lee way. We bought an after market disc with new pads for $200
Hope this help ya out
Cheers

F_ck all this b_llsh_t technology
I really feel for the poor bastard who dropped out to grow a little dope and just go surfing.

Now we have a Krusty, Dusty and Rusty
Kind of wished my name was Murphsky
Hope to meet up one day dude
I’m getting a little long in the tooth but still have plenty of “kick ass” in me yet
Have a real passion for the “almost trials tracks” scattered through out the Wato’s.
May have to grow up one day and pass the candle to my son whom at age 17 is showing just the same madness in crazy tracks as I have had.
Sure you will enjoy this mad bunch
Cheers
Murph the surfHey Tramo 141
Being a surfy dude I was a little late getting into it, bought my first bike DT175 in the early 80’s. Had to get a mate to ride it home from the shop as I had no idea how to ride a bike.
Made up for it pretty quick and within a few months I was riding an IT465 then onto a 490 which had smoother power but far more advanced handling. RRRRRR those were the daysMy thoughts exactly :silly: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Maybe we are just fossils, Ian
But I have never had any drama and can honestly say never had to be rescued from the bush due to a bike breakdown. Long live the KTM525  :woohoo:
Yahoo
MurphGood report on the event there TB
Like you said, poor bastards out in the rain and mud. But I would swap my scenrio at an instant
Was willing to drop three hunj from my paypacket to be out there. F_cking shoulder injury
Maybe next year???
Bring it on :woohoo: :woohoo:
MurphHey STM
We were there and I can honestly say that out of every 15 riders there might of been 1 2T
Not sure if the mingled the classes or not as I was too tight to buy a guide on the night.
One thing was for sure it was bloody freezing.
Cheers
Murph going cold turkey due to lack of surfingRemenicing maybe?
But, bring back the Jap two strokes and make the compitition real again
As a kid (way before I ever rode) my dad used to take me to motocross events. I’m sure there used to be a track at Mulbring (spellin?) Just the other side of the gap heading towards “Neknock”. Always loved the smell of 2T. In my early life there was nothing like it. Nearly all the crossers were 2t’s in that era
2 cents worth
Cheers
MurphWTF
Its pissing down here
TB, I still wish I could of been out there playing in all that mud and clay
Have you heard from the gang??? Maybe they are not getting this rain(joking)
Still, I wish I was out there! Even though I’m dry and warm I think this kind of weather is character building—and anyway after a bottle of turkey the rain would feel as warm as a golden shower HA HA HA
Cheers
Murph the surflessThanks Kato3
I’ll keep that in mind
Would only need to purchase the rear
Wouldn’t think you would want to split the set?
See how we go for now
Cheers
MurphHah!! Try and find someone who welds motorbike rims. The dude I talked to says he doesn’t do them anymore because of insurance/liability and said you’d be lucky to get anybody to do the job.
This is Australia not America
New tyre is now fitted and will monitor the growth if any of the split.
We measured the thickness of the boys rear brake disc and was surprised it was only 2.24mm thick, it should of been replaced at 3.5mm according to specs. Just another one of those things that don’t get checked often enough I guess
Cheers
