I am paying staff 22 hours to cover me for the 3 days so I will be making the most of it. The trails are primo, the accommodation is top shelf and I will get loose every night.
My life and riding have headed in a different direction so this is the last OBT ride I will be hosting.
Your call!STM
Yeah sounds really shit STM !!
See ya there
It’s not what it was that’s for sure fossil , I think most are still riding a lot and maybe staying a bit more local ?? I rode more in the first six months this year than I ever have. Injury slowed me down but I’m back in the bike as of last weekend.
I think the pressure of financing this site has led to its dimmise , I for one feel that a lot of the comments this year regarding who spends what to keep Old Bulls going has basically put people off as trail riding is basically a free sport once your geared up. Comments about targets that constantly need to be hit and that some feel that when money is donated that they can then feel motivated to comment on threads isn’t what It’s all about. I realise that it costs money to run a site and that it’s an issue raising it sometimes but for me the money side has overtaken the fun side so the balance now is all wrong.

What a great ride report mate , you truly did the best of the North Coast and what great adv riding it is !!
Sorry I missed your call , my youngest was in hospital that week ( all good now ) but I’m gutted not to have heard all the details first hand.Awesome pics too Eagle , legend mate
Nick
I think it depends on what your doing , long open adventure riding carrying all your gear ( big bike territory ) or 2-3 day lightly packed rides or with a support truck ( small bore )
I rode an unladen , apart from a large tank , Drz400 east to west coast with a support and it was a great bike to do that trip , plenty of power but light for the dunes , not bad on the open transport stuff but the kicker was while we waited for the slower guys we could go exploring single trails , creek beds and off piste dunes , not something that’s easy to do on the big (650 plus ) adv bikes. In my opinion you’ve got to decide what adv riding you want to do and the bike will present itself

You know how much I enjoy your ride Mike and I’d have to be busted up to miss it !!! Unfortunately that’s still the case , can’t ride for another 5 weeks and your rides probably not the easiest first ride back hey
I really hope a few old Bulls take advantage of this one , it’s some of the best riding in the country , well worth the road trip

How is the recovery going mate? Hope you are mending wellThanks for asking mate , the broken pelvis hurt like a bitch but healed in a month , the broken shoulder I didn’t even really feel but now is keeping me off the bike for another few weeks !!! Moral of the story , if you have to break something take the painful pelvis and be back on the bike in no time !!
