Hi Holeshot , when I had my DRZ I ran 13/48 and found it good in the tight stuff but I’m not sure the gearing helped with hill climbing as it was harder to find the point between traction and wheel spin/ flipping !!
The DRZ has a strong bottom and mid range and seems to handle Thr standard gearing ok. I rode a mates after I changed my gearing and started to wish maybe I hadn’t!
Corey8 is a great hillclimber on his DRZ and hopefully he’ll let you know what he’s running
if not maybe pm him as he gets up anything on his DR
I agree with Bundyroy and if you change the sprockets get the chain to suit too
Nick
I really enjoyed your loop last year mate but hopefully we don’t get any casualties this year !
Sounds like a lot of fun Galey , since getting the Crf I’m having more fun on hills than I’ve ever had and can’t wait to try more technical hills !!
Roll on the Bday ride !!

Awesome job mate , great write up too

Nice one Eagle and Deano , that looks great and is a similar size to my Hepco plate on the Tenere. TB refers to it as the heli pad and also says I ride like a girl !!!
but I can ride like a girl 24 hours a day with minimal stops
and that’s what matters !!!!

Screens are for softies hey !!!!
I love my screen when adventure riding for a couple of reasons ,
1. Clears the locusts
2. Slows down forward motion when body overtakes bike !!
Also when you have no choice but to slab 750km home in the hail / snow/ rain Bol , you’ll love it
Just my opinion
