Wasn’t one of the reason’s for putting a skirt on and going to a 250 is to make it lighter and you said you get off it feeling fresh and can do it all again?
 👿
Come and try the 185km day of mainly singles in 30+ degrees and see how fresh you feel matey !!!

Sorry I missed the cc part in the review but for some reason I thought it was smaller than a 1200 !
I’ll try harder next time boss
Happy Birthday LC , reckon you’d be well and truly celebrating by now hey !!!

Bundyroy wrote:How many cc is it. I agree on the weight. I reckon the BMW 800 is on the limit weight wise for off road riding at 240 ish. I reckon it looks good just too heavy.Good question , I thought it was an 800 but I just checked and it’s actually a 1200 so they’re obviously aiming more at the big Beemer GS and the super Tenere.

I’m hearing you Kram and agree 100% , Honda need a decent hardcore light Adv bike , the Crosstourer is a massive 275 kg
They could make a Honda Quinn just for you mate

Nick, I’ve got some replacement forks sitting in the shed and the shock will got to Teknic. Something will happen….one day.
Wow Micks must have been good mate !!!! It wouldn’t be the same not having your tyre rubbing on the rear guard though !!!
The suspension was very good on the Crf in standard spec but Teknik once again to a really good thing and made it great !!
They serviced the forks and shock , increased the spring weight and set it up to suit my 95 kg.
First impressions were that it felt a bit harsh in the front so I softened the compression by 2 clicks , this felt better and the more I rode the better it all seemed to feel. The rear shock was absolutely spot on and soaked up landings of some good size erosion mounds with ease.
In the tight singles I found that my speed had increased and I was able to turn into corner very quickly. If anything I may have been oversteering slightly but the front end never felt like tucking in.
As the ride went on and fatigue set in I felt the forks seemed harsh again and at no time did I use the full stroke so I believe I could soften the compression some more ?
All in all I’m stoked with the job Teknik did and would recommend it highly

Saturday was a real test day for me , the first ride with the new pipe and new suspension.
Spud put together a great ride of 185km with 90% single track and some fun technical hills.
We met up with Phil and got straight into the tight stuff , the first thing I noticed with the pipe was the huge power increase in the bottom and mid range , 3rd gear wheel stands were a breeze and the snap of the bottom was awesome. Once the revs increase the bike really took off and I can now see why this is such an important mod to the Crf250x , the bike really came to life and I was having a ball.
One hill Spud took us too was a snotty steep bugger full of head size rocks and knee high rock ledges. The first third went well but I took a deflection and nosed into a ledge which stopped me in my tracks. I thought would have to go back and start again but the traction I had was perfect to get me going and on to the top. This amazed me as I’d been in this situation before on the Drz and either dug a hole or flipped it. Once at the top we waited for Phil and he said exactly that , his Wrf450 just kept rearing up when he tried to get going on the hill. So in summery I think the power now is a perfect compromise and a lot of fun !!!

Great ride report guys !!!!
Sounds like your ride had the lot , even food poisoning !!!!
Cmon Bols tell us about the new bike mate !!!
Nick
That’s a real bugger TT , bloody roos are the biggest worry when adventure riding but you can’t do anything about the ones you can’t see
Hope the knee comes good ASAP and your back on the bike soon !
Nick
Looks like you’ve got the bike well and truly sorted Mick and done a great job of it too
but do you think Lotsa will do any work on his suspension ??? His DR has been sagging on every ride I’ve been on and he still flys along
