Did you happen to weigh the new Barrett pipe ? I bet theirs a big difference to the standard 7 kg beast !!
2 bikes the same makes a lot of sense for spares and ease of maintainance. I would go the WR250 as Mick said , it will be a bit lighter in the tight stuff for your son ( how old is he ?) although the DRZ is a great reliable bike and you would easily get 2 for your 8k.
Make sure they are registered too , you will greatly increase your riding area and you can come on some old bull rides too
Welcome to OldBulls Squizzy , you’ll have no trouble getting rides in where you live, their are a heap of old bulls around your area.
See you on the trails
Nick
Wow !!
sewelly wrote:Hi Nickj i do have it good hear, im ex gold Coast lad so i use to ride out Wooden Bong, also New Italy off pacafic hwy, then rde out bto whipporea to refuel the bikes! Loving coffs trails hopefully catch up for a ride soon.. Cheers mateNew Italy to Whipore is my local area , the trails are pretty good and straight out my back yard !! They aren’t as well ridden as Coffs so theirs a bit more maintenance but a brush cutter every couple of years keeps it under control !!!
Not really a joke but a funny bit of reporting ….
Hi Sewelly , welcome to old bulls . You live in dirt bike heaven their mate !! I live up near Yamba and do a lot of local riding but often come down to Coffs area for a ride.
Keep a look out in ride gatherings for rides around our area their are plenty of them !!!

aido wrote:Nick how much did you pay for your goggles and are they easy to use ?They are very easy to use Aido , they have 2 large buttons on the side of the mask that turn it on and off, the other record and stop. They cost me $350 for the 760 bps camera but their is a 1080 avalible of about $500. STM has a 1080 go pro but says it takes a very long time to load onto the computor.
The goggles fit any lid ( well they fit my 4 different ones ) due to the outriggers that move for adjustment.I think now the new go pros have as good quality if not better filming but I think in the bush these are less vulnerable to damage and you can see a small light to show when your filming on the go.
Never Wolfie , I emigrated from the uk 13 years ago and won’t work weekends etc. It’s not laziness just I want a life and if I worked on days off I may as well have stayed in London earning 4 times the money.
My rule is a 40 hour week max and ride at least 3 times a month :woohoo:Nick
I’ve been using the liquid image goggles which are comfortable and give a great picture
just spoken with TB and Lefty has gone on a reccy ride to see how they are going to get off the mother of all hills the they have just ridden up !!!
if you check point 50 on TBs spot tracker have a look at the contours from their to Rouchel Brook and then theirs a few decent creek crossings after that !! looks as though they have to decent 600m very quickly !! :woohoo:October 29, 2011 at 12:12 pm in reply to: Blaxland, Wauchope, Nundle and back 3 days 1400kms #211050looks like TB and his group have left Nundle, I wonder which way they are going to take home ?? its a decent ride in a day !!
This is for those of use that stayed the distance with Fenn at Cameron Corner Store. After a heap of beers this was gold and still is sober
Moose , you will love this mate !!!October 28, 2011 at 8:06 pm in reply to: Tenere XT660Z Barrett Products Exhaust installation #211067Thanks for sharing your install TT , it looks great and I’m sure your bike will be glad to shed the ridiculous weight of the standard pipe.
One thing worth looking at under the seat. Once the standard pipe is removed and the new bracket fitted I noticed , with the Leo pipe anyway , that their is now a bit of a gap that allowed dirt to get up under the seat and also a fair bit of dust from the back wheel. To solve this I cut a rubber car mat up to fit over the whole area and then used the bracket bolts to hold it in place. Then I used silicone to totally seal it.
This may not be the case with the Barrett pipe but I think it wouldEnjoy your new pipe mate , great reason to go for a blast now !!! :woohoo:
