TenereTravelers wrote:Hi TB, Nickj etc,now that you guys have given the Mitas Dakars a decent trashing on your Silverton, Oodnadatta, SA ride, how do you rate them against say the Dunlop 606?
I am looking for a decent trail set up for next year’s Tenere Tragics ride and your input will be most appreciated

Cheers, TT
I ran a 606 on the recent ride and only got 2500km before the grip was all but gone , it didn’t look too bad but the traction was very poor.
The E09 s that were on that ride wore much better but I think you need to run higher pressures on the hot fast days as flats were hard to detect due to the harder side walls. This resulted in ripped tyres due to running flat !
Krusty said he wouldn’t run a front Mitas again as it wasn’t aggressive enough and offered little grip.
My next tyre will be an E09 rear but I will take the time to adjust pressures when needed

To the brothers, thanks for the lift out of Nyngan and for the rums.
My trip got more exciting after being dropped in Broken Hill, but I’m not one to hijack threads with unrelated hitchhiking tales.
Looking forward to more updates and hope to catch up for a ride when I move to Sydney next year!
Hi jack

Two dyslexics run into a bank and shout ” air in the hands mother stickers this is a fuck up”.
A professor of mathematics sent a fax to his wife. It read:
“Dear wife, You must realize that you are 54 years old and I have certain needs which you are no longer able to satisfy. I am otherwise happy with you as a wife, and I sincerely hope you will not be hurt or offended to learn that by the time you receive this letter, I will be at the Grand Hotel with my 18-year-old teaching assistant. I’ll be home before midnight. – Your Husband”When he arrived at the hotel, there was a faxed letter waiting for him that read as follows:
“Dear Husband. You too are 54 years old, and by the time you receive this, I will be at the Breakwater Hotel with the 18-year-old pool boy. Being the brilliant mathematician that you are, you can easily appreciate the fact that 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18. Don’t wait up.”

Made it home at last

A 2992km round trip in the ute and 3268km ride has been one of the best adventures I’ve ever had. A top bunch of guys made this week of riding very special and the route change mid ride and dodging rain all week to end up at the corner has ticked a heap of boxes for me.
Ride report may take a while as everyday was a heap of fun packed with adventure
