Fitted tyres and did service etc.
Ready to go now !!!!!! :woohoo:
On the way back from last weekends ride DY4 asked me a out using filter skins on this ride and I said last year I rotated 2 skins.
He gave me a top tip to use pool skimmer filter socks fr Bunnings instead , same material , 1/5 th of the price !!
Hope the tips not too late to save anyone thinking of using them on this ride !!Cheers DY
Nick
Just a reminder to all attending this ride a charity auction will be held as usual with a heap of top gear and also The Old Bulls Metal Artist DY4 has generously donated this OBT hand made plaque for charity auction. It’s a very impressive piece of work that will no doubt raise a fair price for a good cause.
Nice work Spud

I am not a M/C mechanic and that’s why I rely on others to make sure that my machine is up to scratch. If that’s not good enough, well I’m sorry. I have had all the nessesary parts replaced and work done. There is F%^K all else I can or am prepared to do to get the bike any better than what it is. So in sumation if what I have done to date doesn’t fit with your Nazi regime, I have 1 x 2009 DRZ 400E for sale in my eyes ready for the Corner.
Have a good trip and send me a post card
I do recall being invited on this trip and if you have any doubts about the worthiness of my DR,Nazi Regime !!!!!! ?????? WTF
I am repeating advice I was given about checking over your bike daily to avoid problems. I’m not a mechanic either Gaz but I try to take on board advice from them.
I really don’t care what other people do I was just trying to help save a drama !
Trailboss wrote:News flash to the harder core riders on this rideWe the Grafton crew are not staying in Grafton now. The bikes are booked in for tyres at 11.30am. We will have lunch and gather last minute supplies and drinks for the evening. Once the bikes are ready we will ride up the Old Grafton road to the old chost town of Dalmorton 70kms up the track. We had lunch at Dalmorton on the recent Northern Rivers ride. We are on the river there so it’s all gravy

Sounds good to me TB , Grafton can be a bit lively on a friday night anyway so we might not get too much sleep their
OWL 02 wrote:All the requested maintenace and new bits have been done / fitted to my bike. As I said earlier, As TB is my mechanic, if the bike is not right, it’s his fault and I’m still going.Gaz
That’s an interesting theory Gaz , but it won’t count mate
I had Grafton Motorcycles prepare my bike last year and it cost almost $800 , I was happy to pay for piece of mind but didn’t think it would be their fault if the bike didn’t make the whole trip. It’s our responsibility to keep an eye on things along the way and check the bike over at the end of each day. They get a fair pounding over a 10 hour day and I was surprised what actually vibrates loose
I’ve only been posting photos Lotsa cause no-one believes a pommie
As we all know the maintenance that needs to be carried out for this type of ride can make or break the trip ( and friendships
).
As with last years ride we are asking the following maintenance be carried out to all bikes attending.
The list will be up dated when riders confirm the work has been carried out.
The idea of this is we will all feel comfortable that our partner on this ride has done their best to ensure their bike completes the ride as it will be them left sitting in the desert with you waiting for help
Maintenance required :
New tyres capable of completing the ride
New ultra heavy duty tubes or heavy duty 17″ as that’s the best available.
New chain and sprockets
New wheel bearings
New brake pads
Full check of nuts and bolts
Service and inspection of cables , cooling system and controlsRiders

KrustyObviously all breakdowns can’t be avoided but on previous rides some of these low cost replacement parts have held the ride up needlessly.
Hi Gordo ,
Welcome to Old Bulls , we do a lot of single track riding around the Yamba and Coffs area so keep a look out for a ride and jump in
I also ride a Drz and it’s a good mount although it was a heavy bugger on Evs tight singles last sunday !! Check ot the Coffs 18/9/11 ride reportCatch you on the trails soon

Its funny because you are well past the hardest section by then , it must be counting your chickens??
I have to disagree though Nick that hill is not a grade 5.If it was Murphs rides would be grade 10.
The goggle cam is ace but there is something wrong with the sound quality, you can hear this drone that sounds like a
sewing machine, oh hold on that is your DR:laugh: :laugh:It’s either the DR Ev or the sound of you trying to pick up that WRF again
Great idea Bol !! What the spec on your new UHF ?? Have you got any pics ?
Nick
Goon onya DJ , you’ll be a DR pro before the corner ride !!!!
After ordering Pro Grip gloves from my local shop , they got back to me and said Pro Grip will no longer be making clothing of any kind !!
So with that in mind and STM ( a man i trust , but not sure why
) recommending the Fox bombers I got a pair
I wore them on Evs grade 4/5 ride last weekend and not a blister to show , they even survived a decent off and have knuckle protection too !!!
Thanks for all the advice , I’m stoked with the new gloves !!!

adam wrote:Nick your sure getting the most out of your camera and it looks the goodsKeep us all posted on how they’re performing in general, we can see the video results already
Adam.
The camera is great Adam , I hardly know it’s there , as for the actual goggles I think they are as good as any I own , the small amount of extra weight in the camera isn’t noticeable and they fit well. They also have a good nose guard which is a must around our area !!! Ask Tdriver about the lantana up here
Spuds little stick that caused his lay down   :pinch:
