Aussie Creationism
In the beginning God created day and
night. He created day for footy matches,
going to the beach…..
And BBQ’s…….
He created night for going prawning,
and BBQ’s,
On the Second Day, God created
water….
for surfing,
and BBQ’s on the beach,On the Third Day God created the
Earth to bring forth plants provide malt and yeast for
and wood for BBQs,On the Fourth Day God created
animalsand crustaceans for chops, sausages
steak and prawns for BBQ’s
On the Fifth day God created a Bloke
to go to the footy, enjoy the beach, drink the beer and eat the meat and
prawns at the BBQ’s and God saw that it was good.On the Sixth Day God saw that the
Bloke was lonely and needed someone to go to the footy, surf, drink beer,
eat and stand around the barbie with.
So God created Mates, and God saw
that they were good Blokes. On the Seventh Day God looked around
at the twinkling barbie fires, heard the hiss of opening beer cans and the
raucous laughter of all the Blokes. He smelled the aroma of grilled chops
and sizzling prawns and
God Saw that it was good .. …Well….. Almost good…..
He saw that the Blokes were too
tired to clean up and needed a rest.
So God created Sheilas to clean the
house, to bear children, to wash, to cook and to clean the Barbie, and then
God saw that it was not just good….
It was Bloody Awesome! After lunch we did a quick transport then straight back into the singles , the pace was back on and in no time we reached Hilux Hill. I’ve ridden this hill 3 times in the last month or so and not had a drama. There we some worried faces at the bottom as bikes started coming back down for second attempts. I reassured Boze he would get it no problem and he did , it was then my turn and the usual left line I took in the past had turned to shit after all of the days bikes. Rocks and no traction was all I got and before long stopped at the first step up. Thanks to Sam for grabbing a fork leg and saving a flip !! A quick push over the step and I was away to the top.
Rob400 saw a nice line to the right and smashed it 1st go
The second section of Hilux Hill has plenty of boulders and Buzz got his bike deflected off the trail and almost into the gully 200m below.Next was Bastard Hill and it lives up to its name , Smally and I went ahead to get some footage and pictures. Then the carnage commenced !!!
First came Spud !!
Then Boze
Boze got hooked up and Adam flew past into knee high ruts
Only to get hung up , a bit of effort got him out and to the top
Snowy got caught on the off camber
Only to get going and hit the step with speed
Dude styles it
Sam having a rare get off
Then cruised to the top
Bigger Al at speed
Polly solid as ever
Pikey smashed it !!
Mike effortless as always
Rob looking the goods
Buzz’s face says it all about Bastard Hill !!
More singles and a fun ride down the range saw us back at spuds house. We loaded up and headed back to camp where soon Spud showed up with the awesome roasts and veggies cooked by his lovely wife.
Then time for the fires and beers :woohoo:
Thanks again to all involved for making this a great weekend , the North coast old bulls will be talking about this one for a long time to come
Cheers
Nick
The weekend started early on Friday morning putting up a few signs to herd the old bulls into camp
Friday afternoon was a 60km loop in my back yard and the pace was on and smiles a plenty
Saturday morning saw an early start to arrive at Spuds around 7am
After the transport section from Spuds to trail where we lost my mate STM to a mechanical
, we hit a great trail and had a ball warming up , the odd bingle aside we made the first stop in no time.
We rode single after single and then up the tricky CoUntry Hill , The boys all stopped for a breather while Smally and I high tailed to The Bridge. Snowy made it clear he had concerns and even put in some back yard training back in Tamworth before the ride.
It paid off for Snowy because as I tried to slow the big fella down to see if he needed a hand he just wound it on and hit the bridge with confidence. It was by far the best crossing out of the pack
Needless to say I didn’t have time to get a pic as he was out of sight before my dropped jaw snapped shut.
Mikes stoked to be in NSW
Spud in the zone to hit more trails !!
Pre lunch stop …. Surfs up
Lunch at the pub
To be continued …..

About the bridge.Could you lay some hotmix on it and the approaches and fit some safety rails. Also some air bags would be good.
And for god sake pack a gun there’s a troll living in the creek , I saw it in the photo and its horrible.
The bridge is optional mate , it’s the only way through that section but there will be riders either side to get anyone’s bike over that’s unsure. Plenty of great local riders have taken that option and there’s no shame in that .As for the troll ….. You wait til he’s had a few at the after party
Nick
Hey Sheep , welcome to the site mate, we’ll have to catch up for a few more single track rides ASAP this time of year is unreal in the bush!!!!
