Happy Birthday Murph
Have a top day mate , my tip is ‘Wild Tukey Golden Honey ‘ as a birthday treat
Nick
I much prefer camping to trying to find accomadation every night and this can sometimes be more dangerous trying to push on into a town near dark and battling pissed drivers and Roos.
Plus an adventure ride shouldn’t cost a million dollars I have budgeted on previous rides and after paying for accomadation the budgets blown and I’ve carted a tent etc. for thousands of km for no reason. Sometimes a motel or pub stay can’t be avoided if the chance arises to stay in cheap accomadation and it’s pouring rain I’m going to take it.I think the point to make on this ride is to prepare to camp every night so your not caught out with no food , water etc.
…. and most importantly enjoy the adventure
I had these tyres on when I bought my Tenere , they had done 2200km when I picked it up. I rode 300km home and was very impressed on the road.
I then road to Sydney ( 780km) and swapped to knobbies for the high country rideI then put them on and rode to Comboyne to meet Greg and Chicken ( 300km ).
So all up they have done 3580km on the tar.
They are a great rode tyre for sure , heaps of all round grip.
I rode from Comboyne through a very wet Bago to Micknmelds house. This was a different story. In the red clay I lacked traction and they filled the grip quickly which made things a bit sketchy.
On the gravel fire roads they were great , heaps of traction and good fun !!
Just avoid clay TT and I reckon you’ll love’em !!!They are still only half worn so I think they are good for about 8000km
Look forward to your thoughts on then

Hi Ev
As per own phone call mate , I know the ride is up to it’s capping so could you please put ‘ coyote ‘ and ‘ KTMTrav ‘ on the reserve.
Cheers

Bundyroy wrote:I got sick of all these supposedly motorcycle specific gloves letting me down and costing the earth. Heard there was some good gloves at bunning. I think they’re called ironsomething landscaper or something along those lines. Around $30 and are excellent. Have done a lot more work than any pair of mx gloves I’ve owned and are still good.Ironclad is the brand and landscaper is the model , I’ve looked at them too Bundy but never tried. I can see a business write off in the making mate !!!

Aaron wrote:I have used Dirt Paw and Polar Paw . The polar ones were a bit thicker as I was wearing through the grip area at an alarming rate. I seem to wear them through where they only have one layer so don’t get more longevity as a result of the dual layer. The latest fox ones I have have plastic on the knuckles but the grip has still worn through. I think they could all do with stronger lining on the grip. You have to be a bit careful with some types of elastic as I glanced the header with the glove while repairing a damaged radiator and it melted and virtually stuffed a new pair of gloves.Same as mate , the grip area wears very fast with the dirt paw.
I’ll have a look at the Bombers and platinum. Cheers
Anyone used the pro grip ?
Aaron wrote:The Mororo single looked fun Nick. The camera gets a great perspective. The trail was a bit reminiscent of Kokoda at the cells. Lots of sticks and vines at eye height. Love your work.
How do you go when the strap gets stretched and the lens on the goggles get scratched are there many spares available.
All parts are avalible mate , it was my first question too !!
