chris72a wrote:Nice Nick love the sound effects, so what price did you get them for, I’d be interested to know if you can get replacement “blank” goggles and move the camera over to a new set, rather than having to buy the whole lot again. I would assume this is possible?Cheers
Chris.I got this reply from Liquid image
Nick,
We do not have interchangeable goggles at this time. However, if replacement parts are needed then we can provide them. Send any other questions my way and I’ll be glad to help!

One thing I did do yesterday was avoid using first gear, I went up all the hills in second and it did it easy so pulling the taller gearing shouldn’t effect the bike down low too much but will help out at speed. The project bike is at my place and I double checked on the weekend, it is running 14/41 in the bush. I used it at Orange in 2008 for a few days while chasing the A4DE in the tight singles and it was great the DR motor is so strong down low and in the mid range. Go 15/42 for adventure riding mate. Trust me, if it doesnt work I will pay for the sprockets

+1 for that Scotty , I ran 15/44 and was working the bike hard keeping up with the larger bore bikes. And generally their are a few bigger bikes on a group Adv ride.

I thought you said $250us. That’s overseas price isn’t it ?
I didn’t pay RRP and I think most people that have a good relationship with their bike shop could get a bit of a discount.
My concern with paying $250 US would be if the goggles were faulty and where I’d stand with warrenty. Sending them back etc. I’m happy to pay the $100 or so more not to have the hassle

WOW $400 RRP? is that Australia only.. Straight from them is $250US
That’s from my LOCAL bike (who introduced me to a product I knew nothing of , always look after me with good deals and I’d be gutted if they closed down to overseas shopping ) shop in AUSTRALIA. Yes Krusty

This is the response I got from Liquid Image after I sent them an email regarding camera angle.
They got back to me straight away and have a solution , I’m happy with thatHi Nick,
We are in the process of developing a wedge that will tip up the camera
angle about 10%. If you’re interested let me know and I can send one to you
when it comes in.Thank You,

707.284.1585You answered you own question with a top ride report and great days riding Scotty !!
Adv riding to me is going for a trail ride and keeping going into unknown territory be it for a day or a month , regardless of bike.
The Drz is a good Adv mount and I really enjoyed mine !Look forward to an Adv ride with you soon !!
Nick
For various reasons King STMs WR250 with new Rekluse fitted ended up at my house after last weekends ride. Being the good bloke he is he offered me a ride before he came up on the weekend to collect it. As soon as the phone went down I shortened my working day by 2 hours to take up the offer.
Riding out the back of my property is a decent hill climb whichever way we go so I geared up and headed up Arm pump hill which is always a good start to a ride as within 200 meters your going up and keep going for 2 km.
I was amazed at how quickly I got used to the rekluse , I started feathering the clutch at the first tricky bit then remembered what I was testing bs just left the clutch lever alone from then on.
The hill is sandy corners and erosion mounds all the way to the top and I have to say the rekluse was outstanding , their was no wheel spin and heaps of traction out of corners no matter how hard you went in and out.
The top section has 2 options 1 easy one rough, rutted and steep , I took the harder as the rekluse instills instant confidence and it went up no problem. I had a second go and stopped halfway , now on my bike I would have dug a hole and been lucky to progress forwards. The WR took off easily with no wheel spin and effortlessly rode to the top. I then rode off piste trying to make the thing fail , again I found myself at the top.
Now I came back down the hill via a particulary steep single , normally I would rely on the engine break to go down here with a little rear brake and front to keep things steady. I went over the crest and although in 1st gear picked up speed and go halfway down quicker than ever before. I then remembered STM saying to give the throttle a little ‘ blip’ to engage engine breaking which I did and bought the whole show under control.
I did this loop a few times and have to say the mixture of a light 250 fitted with a rekluse clutch makes single track riding effortless and ups your speed and confidence a few notches.
Would I get one on the Drz? No. The package STM has complements itself with weight and auto clutch whereas I think the heavy Drz would still be a wrestle through the tight stuff. Hill climbs are easier with the Rekluse no doubt but the Drz tractors up most hills with or without me on board. Its a great thing and if I ever bought a lighter enduro bike I’d fit one in a heart beat !!
Thanks for the ride STM !!
And your clutch King STM you don’t use that anymore either !!!
I think it really comes down to what the ride organizer wants and that should be respected.
If SB asked if he could plot Lotsa’s ride and lotsa was ok with it and wanted a copy everyone’s happy , but I think the point is to ask and then find out if their are reasons like private land or overused sections that should not be plotted.
If you don’t ask and get found out theirs a fair chance word will get out and you’ll have no-one to ride with !! -
