A man kills a deer and takes it home for dinner. Both he and his wife decide that they won’t tell the kids what kind of meat it is but will give them a clue and let them guess.
The kids were eager to know what the meat was on their plates so begged their dad for a clue.
Well, the father said, “its what mummy calls me sometimes. The little girl screams in horror……Don’t eat it …..its a fucking arsehole!
I think it would be impossible to have a good week after such an epic high country ride. I think it’s called après adv ride depression !!
Make sure the weekends a good one mate !!
I spoke to Scott this morning and I don’t think anyone will be too surprised to hear …
1 old bulls heard about his new born before his parents
2 Mrs. STM caught him logging on to old bulls on his smart phone whilst in labor ( you can imagine the phone disappeared pretty quickly
)
Great work mate!!
Congratulations Mate !!
All the best to Missus STM .
I bet you’ve got a balance bike already in Kodys cot !!Nick
Hi Coxy
Welcome to old bulls , I live just up the road near yamba and get on a fair few old bull rides. I haven’t had a bad one yet !!See you on the trails !!

Evil Rudy wrote:We’ll never tell… actually its an easy set up / re-valve that thanks to people like Nick and TB we have perfected now. It never ceases to make us wonder why factories produce huge trail bikes and under spring and under dampen them. The test rides must be on Quaaludes…Good news to hear Nick.
Happy trails,
ERThanks to your input into my set up too Rudy , I can’t believe a bike this size can handle the way it does and jump the occasional erosion mound !! :woohoo:
After the High country ride the Tenere has now got 10 603 km on the clock , so I’ve put over 8000 km on it in the last 12 weeks
From buying an almost standard bike I think the essential changes for me were pivot pegz to replace the ridiculously skinny standard pegz An underbar dampener which also lifts the bars about 30 mm and as in 6 ft 1 it’s made it very comfortable standing up. The biggest improvement is the suspension , the standard set up I was constantly bottoming and understeered massively. Tekniks fitted heavier springs and welded up some holes !!! ( ask them I only know it now works unreal )I fitted wolfman luggage for the last ride and they are a top set up. The racks have had a couple of teething problems as they are a very new design for the Tenere but the back up service I got from adventure moto and Jason at Barretts has been second to none. They have listened to suggestions and are determined to make the racks bullet proof.
My main disappointments have been the ‘Strike ‘ GPS . I have had 3 units before I went and got a refund. It’s a $500 gps made for ‘bikers’ but mine never worked longer than 300km before it died.
The other let down is the Cush drive rubbers which need replacing with every tire change. Yamaha charge $70 a set so I have had to buy bulk in Germany for obvious reasons. The ride on the Tenere is surprising me every outing, it can sit on tar all day comfortably to get to ride starts then it makes twin track and some singles as much fun as an enduro bike.
Where this bike has surprised me is it’s hill climbing ability , I have pointed at hills I would be unsure of on my trail bike but the Tenere muscles to the top no worries. I give all credit to the bike as some of these hills my confidence in getting to the top is not high which usually means failure but it hasn’t failed to get me their once.I’m loving this bike more and more and can’t wait to add some more kms!!

gavb wrote:Hey TB,Is the Desert the ones you used on the High Country Ride? How did they go?
Hi Gav
I used Dunlop 606 front and rear for the high country ride and they weren’t bad but I am going to try the desert to see if i can get more kms out of a front. TB ran a Mitas rear and I think was very happy !I had a message on my phone today from Cathy ( the top lady who rented us her house in Dargo). She has found a pair of camo riding pants left by one of us the night we stayed. I have her number so if anyone knows who’s they are let me know and I’ll get them sent to you.
Cheers

OWL 02 wrote:Thanks TB, count me in. Be prepared for my bike to dumped at your place in the middle of September for a health check. Any problems, you know me, will just throw money at it.BTW, got a brand new 17″ 606 going cheap as well. Wont fit the DR, shame that.
Gaz
It’ll be great to have you on the bikes with us this time Gaz.
We’ll have a ball !! :woohoo:
Here are a few random pics of this ride …
Boulder and Kram getting Boulders bike fixed
Fish changing a tube
Fish changing his Bro’s sprocket
Moose getting to grips with how the DR air filter fits
Kram trying to mount Quinn
Moose taking in the view
TB and Fish getting cosy
The crew on top of Mt Pinnabar
Finally after 10 days of awesome riding I have got my shit together to start a ride report. I have read the other reports and they are an excellant documentation of a great adventure ride. At the risk of repeating what others have written I thought I’d cheat a bit and give my highlights with some pictures perhaps not yet seen.
My highlights…
Leaving Yamba in horizontal rain in the dark fully loaded with gear , only to pull up at the servo near Wauchope to see Moose and Kram with ear to ear grins.
Having Micknmeld and strucky turn up to see us off was a really nice thing to do , hopefully next time they’ll be riding with us.
Arriving at TB s , having a few beers and getting the bikes ready to go
Riding to Gunning and TB finding one of the best twin tracks of the ride , after this track I realized what the Tenere could really do and how much fun was to be had , even on a loaded bike.
The mountains hiding this top trail
Getting to Gunning and meeting the guys who we’d be riding with over the next few days. And Gary showing up to wish us well.
I was gutted when Kram broke down and we had to leave him in Canberra but how good was it to hear his excitement on the phone when he knew he’d make Jindabyne that night
Trying to fix the Mighty Quinn
Waiting in Jindabyne for Krams call
Leaving Jindabyne for Tom Groggin although cold and knowing that this day was going to be epic. This day included the huge Murry River crossing which was demanding to say the least, Davis Plain track which put my big bike skills to the test and landed me on my arse down a rocky downhill !!
Old Adaminaby, somewhere I wanted to see with an amazing story of relocating houses as this man made lakes water rose.
The people of Omeo are up their with the friendliest I have met. Then the ride TB put together to get us from their to Dargo via Mt. Hotham.
Up Mt.Hotham
Waiting for the rest of the crew at Dargo
Meeting the enthusiastic Dargo Dan and his store , this guy will do anything for a fellow motorcyclist. Legend
The haunted stream and it’s 54 creek crossing was epic and a must do for any rider.
The hill climb to the top of Mt. Pinnabar gave me heaps of confidence in my bike , it’s by far the longest I have ridden uphill ever and being blinded before the top was just plain terrifying , but the views and sense of achievement were worth it
Racing with TB and fish from Tom Groggin through the twistys to Thredo was a real buzz
Seeing TB pull a wheelstand out of a hairpin and changing gear for about 70 meters was just plain outstanding on a loaded 240kg bike.
The Bridal Trail tested my only real fear of riding along a narrow trail with huge drop offs. Satisfying once done!!
Getting the challenge from owl02 (gaz) to ride up a hill know as 10 steps had me nervous all of the final day. I saw it and had no idea if my Tenere could make it. It did and I was grinning for an hour after !!
Our last night camping in St. Albans and getting treated to some folk music ( some provided by Moose !)
Thanks heaps to TB for organizing a great ride and being on hand to help me 24/7.
To Boulder and fish for being straight into the repairs and great blokes to drink with!
Kram for some top laughs
Moose for sweeping and always smiling
The three amigos and Motodude for leading sections and picking some good lines when I was following you !Can’t wait for the next one !!
My dad told me he was sick of getting socks for his birthday. I told him to settle its was about the thought. The look he gave me was scary, and I knew he’d kick my head in………
If he had legs.!!!
My son was thrown out of school today for letting a girl in his class wank him off. I said, “Son! That’s three schools this year. You should stop this immediatley or they will ban you from teaching altogether”.
