Hi Tones39
welcome to OBT you are in a great area to get on a heap of cool rides, I live up the north coast and it’s always well worth effort to ride with any old bulls.
I have only ridden limited kms on tar on my DRZ but I had a Bridgestone ED78 rear for a ride to Cameron Corner in October and its done 3500km and still has heaps of life , we did a bit of tar on the way home and it handled very well.catch you on the trails

Hi Ollie,
My parents were very strict when it comes to drugs and made their thoughts clear. I still tried most things , but was always worried about their disappointment if they found out. As a result I had a puff with mates and limited other things and in hind sight think their approach was good.
I had friends whose parents didn’t care and these guys really got into it , so I think your initial reaction was perfect , if he knows your dissapointed then although he may still try it he won’t feel as comfortable and probably get over it.
It’s a hard call mate and it’s one place we’ve all been and now have to guide our kids through, I’m sure you’ll make the right decision.
Best of luck
I’m feeling your pain Boony, after laughing through this thread I now have the same mission ahead, but with the added bonus of 70 mm of rain and still flogging down.
I’m about to suggest that Santa left it still in the box hanging out of the fireplace as it’s ‘fun’ to put together as a family!!!
I’ll let you know how this pans out
After months of STM telling me how he would get on the net , talk with guys he’d never met , arrange places to meet these men , spend evenings under the stars with the same men , then sneak back home to his wife only divulging small parts of the trip , I eventually realized he was talking about a dirt bike group ….. Phew !!
My highlights were..
Joining obt in May and learning heaps about dirt bikes
The poker run
riding great trails and meeting some top blokes.Teknik Wauhope
turning a DRZ into something I never thought it could be.Cameron run
experiancing adventure riding for the first time and loving it.Coffs singletrack
weren’t bad   :woohoo:Most of all meeting some people I know will be mates for life!
Bring on 2011!

The James Squire will be in the fridge for sure, the new Tenere might take a bit longer!
Hope you can make yamba mate, be good to see you guys over the festive season
I have a new bike arriving in 2011, only new to me it’s an 09 Tenere to get into a bit more adventure riding.
It’s a great way to get around the minister too, an enduro bike and an adv bike , got to have both, no question !!Police Raid in MOUNT DRUITT
Police just announced the discovery of an arms cache of 20 semi automatic rifles with 250,000 rounds of ammunition, 2 anti-tank missiles, 4 grenade launchers, 2 tonne of heroin, $50 million in forged Australian banknotes and 5 trafficked Filipino prostitutes all in a Housing Commission house behind the Public Library in Mount Druitt.
Local residents were stunned.
A community spokesman said:
“We’re shocked. We never knew we had a fucking Library!!”
Happy Birthday Kram, I’m looking forward to catching up in the new year , adventure style !!
Nick
Good stiff NFHU !
The pics are great and what a luxury having the XR and WRF , you’ve got all rides covered!
Looks as though you’re surrounded by good country too!Hi Glenn Welcome to OBT, I do all types of riding on my DRZ and love it, its very versitile and gearing is a simple change over to have a do it all bike,
For the singles i run 14-48, and for the adventure rides i run 15-44.
I used Bridgestone ED78 rear tyre for an adventure ride and it easily did 3300km with heaps left. In the singles I find the Dunlop Geomax intermediate rear works well, we have a mixture of sand , loam , rock and clay and its good in all of these. I did use a Michelin s12 for the Coffs ride and it was outstanding in the wet but wouldn’t last more than 18 hours :blink:These work well for me but we’re all riding in different terrain with different riding styles so it may not suit everyone.
Hope to see you on the trails soon
Nick
The night before Xmas throughout the house,
we were all fucked, even the mouse.Dad at the brothel, mum with uncle Frank,
I’d settled down for a nice slow wank.Outside the house I heard a right clatter,
I let go of my cock to see what was the matter.Out on the lawn I saw a big dick,
I knew right away It was old St Nick.He came down the chimney like a bat out of hell.
The big fat fucker, I think he fell.He filled all our stockings with sweets and beer,
and a big rubber cock for my brother, the queer. He rose up the chimney with a thunderous fart,
the big fat c#nt blew the house apart. He swore and he cursed as he rode out of sight,
Shoutin,I’ll be back next year, have a hell of a night.Merry Xmas.
Glad you got it sorted mate. I’m a domestic/industrial electrician by trade but a lot of the fault finding principles cross over to auto/ bike wiring.
Enjoy your ride, hope the button works every time
as for the beers , I’ll have one with you on this years nundle ride
Nick
Good read so far Kat , I’ve been looking forward to hearing your story
I have a 1978 xl with a 23″ front wheel, if your bikes the same I found Kenda are the only people you can get a tube from and it’s worth buying a few as it’s a 6 week wait.
