I’ve been looking into this too Boony and from what I’ve been reading a good quality gel battery is the go(yuasa seem the best) but the key seems to be keeping it hooked up to a battery charger/ maintainer with some people having batteries last up to 8 years.
I have no experiance in this it’s just what I have red but it does seem DRZ standard batteries are probe to faliure.
Unreal mate
can we ride it next weekend!!
Please!!
Hi mate , welcome to OBT . You’re right in the middle of old bull territory with heaps of rides north and south of where you live.
You’ll have a ball, theirs a top bunch of blokes on this site and I’ve had some of my best rides with the old bulls
enjoy
Nick
It was bloody cold , I took this of TB before he bought the balaclava!

Drz in adventure bike set up and ready to go
Condo pub meeting point

Yunta campsite , our last dry camp moments before the rain really started
Catalogue pose at Yunta pub
Snow near sunny corner, I didn’t expect that

Where’s the gratitude ah!!
I just might have to keep the wait-a-while vine locations to myself in that case!!
Really glad to hear your in for this one Corey, as I’m leading one of the loops you won’t have to worry about being mid pack, I know you’ll be hot on MY tail !!
Where’s the best place to get your DVDs Steve??
My ride started with a surprisingly quick drive from Yamba to Blaxland via a stop over a a cousins in Newcastle. I haven’t been further south than Wauchope in 10 years and the highway was great.
I arrived at Blaxland early Saturday morning and found TBs place no worries, we got some brekky and started getting our gear sorted ready for Gary to pick up.
We had a ride to Suttos and I bought some Dri rider rallyx pants that proved to be a great buy, then we had a few ales and waited for Krusty.
Krusty arrived sporting the ‘Bogan Biker’ look,
I was surpized Krusty kept up this look all week  and check out the Fox extreme adventure riders sandels
Hardcore Moose arrived too and after a quick fuel tank change everyone was set.
Salina is an absolute legend and gave me great feeds all day and a comfy bed for the night, although we where all up and rearing to go by 4 am.The ride from TBs to Condo was awesome although the wet road and fog in the dark over Mt. Victoria whilst running new knobbies was by far the most terrifying part of the whole trip.
The scenery to Bathurst with Mal5.1 and Donna was mind blowing, green rolling hills with wildlife coming to see TB from far and wide attracted by his shoo roos :laugh:After a good brekky we headed on dirt roads with frozen peas as a surface through Orange where the peas turned to frozen Brussels and into Trundle to meet Jeffro.
We rolled into Condo to see Gary and Boulder beers in hand and not long after Mickp , lotsa and Bollocks arrived.
Greg the publican was a top bloke and cooked a good feed for us all then it was time to get some Kip, tomorrow it starts to get serious.
More to come….
If any old bulls are planning a few days ride and would like to use the spot tracker let me know and your more than welcome to borrow it.
It seemed to be a success when we used it on the Cameron ride and it’s a great way for other old bulls to follow your progress.
All I ask is if you break it you replace it. ( but to be honest it’s very robust and if it’s left in the netting of your backpack it will still track and stay quite safe)just give me a couple of weeks notice as the post service from northern nsw is a bit unpredictable !!
What a bargin mate!
It’s a top mag and for only $50 subscription and you still get a freebie, I’ll be ordering asapThanks for all your concern, but STM was right it’s just a soft pommie whinging about a little splinter
I had surgery yesturday but the doctor couldn’t get the peice of sleeper out as it was wedged under the tendon ( this explains my slight discomfort on the ride  )
I went to a foot surgeon today who after digging down about an inch managed to get the large peice out. He also had a good scrape around and found 2 more pieces floating around.
Anyway I’m home drinking a beer now and alls good !!
Here’s a pic after the first op!! ( I’ll never foot model again  ! )
That’s amazing Boulder,I can’t remember but did you take a spare outer with you??
I rode 250km on TBs Tenere today and I can vouch that the high screen is the go, we had gusty cross winds all day and it was fine.
I have a screen on my DRZ that isn’t as high as the Ten and it is way harder on your head and neck at speed. -
