Boulder is the man and the man to talk to
Don’t forget when Brad from Tekniks rings to make mention that you will run the tank to Cameron’s and across Australia mate and use the standard the rest of the time
  I just realised this trip has a pommy and a sepo on it. Sounds like the making of a joke
TB
 and both pommy and sepo on 400’s 😆 I can imagine how that joke will end up

after talking with TB about the Teknik day and setting up my DRZ suspension I think I may have got it wrong in the past , I was under the impression that by rating the springs to my weight would give me the best ride possible and it was up to me to dial in the clickers to achieve what I needed from the bike. I now understand the concept of how important the valves are to a plush controlled ride, this short conversation has got me even keener to get Tekniks on the job to setting up my DRZ for what and how I ride . Although I will never be racing I really want the best ride I can get from the precious weekend rides I get!!

What type of glue did you pour into the bars Bruce?

I saw something on adding lead shot to the silicone so it’s suspended in the bars and gives a dampening effect to vibrations !
I suppose a bit more weight up high on the DR won’t matter!!!
Hi TB
sorry to here about the buster, looks like the knee braces are worth the money, looks like it could have been a lot worse.I have also smashed up my knee on a bike and although I was told 6 weeks recovery with rest or 6 months if you start back too soon, I got back on it too soon and it took all of 6 months to come good. I did the same with a broken hand and ankle ( all bikes) and have suffered a lot longer than I should have.
So I although I can’t take my own advice try and rest it , as hard as it is:)
good luck
NickWon’t get rid of me that easily matey!!!
Still in
Nickj
In for sure STM , couldn’t miss that one!!

I would still be in had it been 3 full days of riding , the cost was not a problem and the fact it’s a tour company makes no difference to me.I would spend a lot longer driving than riding and that’s not the right way round in my book.
If a longer ride came up in the high country I would be very interested as I dought I would get the
chance other than with obt.
I didn’t back out of this one easily and was gutted once I did.
Hope the ride still goes ahead I’m sure it will be awesomeNick
Please don’t take this the wrong way Nick, It is not a witch hunt, I am just trying to gather reasons for the future ride organising eg If cost is the issue(Than we wouldn’t organise a ride like this), If distance is an issue (than we wouldn’t organise a ride so far away) etc etc
thanks for the replyhatto
I didn’t take it the wrong way at all Hatto
I fully understand it must be hard to plan this type of ride and feedback is essential to make it easier the next time you organize a trip.
I just wanted you to know my reasons as part of your feedback mate!Nick

Sorry Krusty, but I am way to happy about being on the trip to feel bad about the tank!!
No, I do feel bad mate , when I offered it I thought the ride was full and I had no chance of going.
