xy-transit wrote:Yeah figured the factory model would be a little bit more. And thought the 10k may well have been a run out unit. still looked like was well worth looking at if in the market..
Ad for a Std model states Sachs suspension.
The standard model does have Sachs front and rear but it’s surprisingly good , on the Beta test day the bike were set up and nothing changed for a huge variety of riders , everyone I spoke to commented on the handling so I thing Sachs may have got an unfair rap lately.
The factory model has Marzocchi forks which seem good and a Sachs rear shock , unlike my Tenere which had a Sachs shock and very little adjustment this has high and low speed compression and rebound. After setting the rider sag I was over a third adjustment used so I may need a heavier spring if I don’t stop the smoko pies

The factory is a bit more than 10k XY but I’m sure there would be great deals on run out standard models , from what I can see the factory models sell fast and there isn’t enough to meet demand which could be good for resale !!
As far as I know they are all carbonated which I like

ECKS-Man wrote:Congrats mate, looks great! Where do Beta source their engines? Are they still a KTM power plant? A mate had one and loved it, actually, haven’t spoken to him for a while, odds are he still loves it!Thanks mate , they were KTM up to 2010 but they now make their own engines. They are still carburettor which I really liked for trail side repairs
NickHappy birthday mate , see ya on the coast soon

Buzz wrote:Hey Nick now that Boony knows that there is a grass track that’s all he will want to so so there should be a spot available for the the real ride.I have put the grass track in and out of some of the single track at the start so every one should have fun !!! The grass track will be freshly slashed a couple of days before so we’ll have to run it in :woohoo:

A bit of trail maintenance was in order this afternoon so I thought a take a few teaser pics !!
The camp area
Just 40 meters from where we camp is the entry to our first tail ‘Hidden Gully’ this is a nice little grade 4 tester to warm us up straight away.
Hidden Gully Entry
Down we go !!
Some rocky tests
Some loam
A gully
And a surprise section I’m still clearing
After we leave hidden gully we should be nicely warmed up to head into the hills
Then we can kick back with a beer and look at the view for tomorrow ride !!
No worries Lofty , your on
