Thanks for the breakdown on the dampener TB makes much more sense now and should now be much useable!
I’ll give it a workout this weekend with Scott in my backyard !When the setting is to light to notice at a stand still do you still have a damping effect on big hits ?
After riding with the dampener last weekend i was really cautious of putting it on as when did I felt like I was’ off balance in a rut’ and fighting the thing.
Is this commen and do you get used to it?That so true. I hit a hill up here that’s a renowned bugger and made it. Since I heard the reputation , no chance!!!!
I know mate! It was just after you said about your hill climb ability you proceeded to fly up and make it look easier than it was!!
But you were spot on about mental attitude , after STM said it was a basterd I was already conviced I would balls it up!!No lack of riding ability with you tdriver. I remember you saying to me you were the worlds worst hill climber before we tackeled that hill.
Were does that leave me !?!
Nice summary of a top ride Scott!
surpised you were so kind in relaying the hill climb section though , all I can say is I f—-ed up big time and have been running it through my head since. Obviously now it the biggest knarlyest hill ever and will only get steeper the more I tell the story !!!
Good job I live on acreage that’s as steep as that , better cut some tracks and start climb practice ah!!You won’t regret it jak , it made a big difference today and was real good to use a back brake on STMs single track!
The pads arrived today , 2 days from Suttos in Sydney to yamba , that’s a record!
So again like last Friday when the steering dampener arrived I had to leave work immediatly.
Had them fitted in a few minutes and the differance was amazing, you were spot on TB the soft pads gave the rear brake heaps more feel and all for $48 to the door, looking forward to testing them tomorrow in the tight stuff!Good looking trails boony , are most of your single tracks through that kind of forest? We have so much lantana to cut through it’s hard to sight a track first go!
Not sure where STM is going to take us ! Probably single track with climbs and crossings , I hope!
It’s an 09 400 exc. Sounds like he’s going to miss a top ride.
I took my bleeders of before going to work this morning and after reading your explanation Moto feel it was the best thing to do. Thanks for a good explanation on how it all works!
I have done 3000km in 10 months with screw in bleeders and no seal problems.
That could explain why after fitting the bleeders last weekend I rode for 2 hours to a rocky hill climb and struggled with the front end the whole way up ?
Or maybe I was just riding sh#t that day!
Either I think I have lost faith in them now, back to the screws for Saturdays ride !
