I heard of 2 sales on the day ( 300 2t and 2013 350rr) and 1 guys talking about buying a 350. Our mate Greg is seriously considering the 498 and his sons set on the 350 or 400.
Rob400 is very keen too !!
I will be looking at upgrading the 250 within 12 months as it’s an 08 and will be due , having Cross Roads Motorcycles 40 minutes away would mean a Beta for me too. Lee stands by his product 100% and Claudia ( Lees wife and business partner ) told me they were very impressed with the importers back up service and parts availability.
I’d go the 400rr ( or 300 2t :woohoo: )

As STM said the standard base models are still good spec , I’d been keen to see the factory model they have in the flesh :woohoo:

It was fun HB !!! Not sure how I’d go on a long trail ride on it though !!
You never know but
300rr 2t

The 400rr
Thanks to Lee and Claudia for a fantastic day , the track was great fun but the bikes were awesome :woohoo:
I rode the full range 4t 350 400 450 498 and 2t 250 and 300 , they all handled so well out the box with nothing to do and this years model is set up with heavier springs for the normal bloke. They all steered very well and with good brakes to match made a very confidence inspiring ride !! Unlike a lot of euro bikes that I feel like I’m perched on top of I felt ‘inside’ these bikes but with the flat seat it was an easy transition from back to front.
I thought the 350 would be my pick but a lack of low down torque reminded me of the Husky 310 which I don’t enjoy. The 400 however had lots of low down torque and a mid range to match more suited to trail riding IMO. The 450 had a very steady power delivery but wasn’t as exiting to ride as the 400. The 498 could be ridden either hard and bloody fast or lazy as the massive power ment that correct gear selection was optional
I really liked the big girl but think a full day on the trails would start to get tiring as the bike has heaps of power I could never use !!
I wasn’t keen on going on the 2 strokes but got offered the 250 2t and couldn’t refuse ….. It’s was an animal with snappy power and being super lightweight made for a quick exiting lap. I did 4 laps and it seemed to get angrier every lap. The 300 2t was the shock for me as I was expecting that crazy 250 aggression but found a very fast lineal motor that delivered way more predictably than the 250 , crack it open on the corner exit and it lit up, the crazy power found the ground and you were off at pace , it braked as well as it accelerated and turned on a dime. This bike was off the chain and I was frothing after 4 laps ( I went back again for more laps later :woohoo: ), arms were pumped for the first time all day but from braking not accelerating and I just wanted more. The last 2 stroke I rode was a TZR 250 sports bike 24 years ago and I remembered what I liked :woohoo:
In summery though for me as a trail rider that wants to last all day and live a bit longer the 400 was the pick. ( if funds were unlimited I’d have a 2t 300 too
)
Cheers guys for a top day !!
Nick
