I like how you took it easy and walked past the 250 and got straight on the 450
All the best for a full recovery mate.PTW
Haha !!! Theirs no bling on the 450 so I don’t mind leaving it dirty !!!!

Well it is almost 7 weeks since the buster and the physio gave me the all clear on Friday to go for a trail ride :woohoo: strictly no motocross though , but any ridings good riding after this amount of time.
Especially that it was probably dirt bikes that kept me out of a wheel chair .So without delay I hopped on the 450 today and hit my home trails , it’s amazing how quick you forget and injury and wind it on !!!! I only did a short stint but it felt great to be back on the bike !!
When’s the next Noosa run Mike ???

CRFPilot wrote:Filter arrived today….Quick service!
Just threw it in the bike & it seems fine to me… was a lot easier to fit it to the internal filter/mount, was a little loose compared to the stock one, possible because it doesn’t have the 2 rubber lugs that fasten it to the internal frame but once the main filter bolt was installed it tightened everything up & seems to have seated with no issues. That’s great service mate , good to hear you found that the filter fitted ok. Look forward to your thoughts

Missed ya birthday Puddles , didn’t see it in the birthday section ???
Hope you had a good one mate

I think the foam seals so much better than the rubber in the crf air box especially using Motul oil , after this years very dusty Transmoto 12 hour the standard filter kept everything engine side spotless !!
Like I said earlier the mechanic had seen the problem more than once so it’s not just me I don’t think , but I didn’t want to risk a problem so ditched it straight away !!
It was a $55 loss but that’s bugger all compared to the alternative
Nick
I don’t think the air box has changed on the x’s but not sure with the R ??
STM has a 2012 x and its identical to both my crfs .Worth checking out I reckon , my mechanic recommended the twin air and it does give a great seal
Nick
Welcome to Obt mate , theirs quite a few old bulls around Northern Nsw so I’m sure we’ll catch up on the trails sometime
Nick
I wasn’t happy with the way it fitted the Crf at all , didn’t seem to engage any where near as well as the stock or twin air. My local mechanic has seen dramas with them not sealing on a Crf with the obvious consequences.
On his advice mine sits on the shelf now
