sorry Nick,
I too, dont understand your linkage problem
i’d love to help  but I cant say i have this problem
and if you northerners could explain this in Laymans terms, i would appreciate it thoroughly

Get a bit of paper towel and some metho  and roll your finger around inside. Remove it gently so as not to dislodge a needle :side: . Replace that end seal turn it up the other way, remove the other one and repeat. Then get a finger full of blue grease
and pack that bad boy. :woohoo: Reassemble and then tackle the other one in the same fashion while you’re yelling a “woohoo”. Get them so full of grease that you can only just put it all back together and torque it to spec.

Well I pulled the linkage apart on the 250 , one bearing was fine the others are shot so I’ve ordered a complete replacement kit and to make installation a bit easier got this Motion Pro press for under $50

Aaron wrote:Nick you should bring the 250 in August so we can compare the hot cams mod to the 300. The 450 looks great but bring the single machine. Pleeeeeaaaassseee :woohoo: PS nice shoes :silly:I will be bring the 250 Aaron , look forward to seeing the difference in the bikes now !! Have you ridden the 300 yet ?

the rookie wrote:How’d you find the 14-51 on the 450 nickI’m going to have a test ride this weekend mate so I’ll let you know , I’m hoping it calms it down a bit off idle !!
What gearing do you run ?
Nick
No polishing here mate , not sure I want to see my reflection in the frame
I’m running 14-51 on the 250 also which seems a good combination with the hot cam etc. the front is a cheap $10 sprocket the rear is a supersprox Ali/steel job , they last forever and with the narrow DID chain I think it’s a great set up
Nick
Good report and pics puddles , lucky to find the gremlins before the big ride hey !!
The Puddles story is gold
Nick
Thanks for the info guys , a job I’ll tackle tomorrow
Nick
Here’s a good How to on linkage maintenance !!
Trailboss wrote:Nickj wrote:So how often would you suggest to pull the bolts and grease ?Depends on the quality of the grease you use how often you ride t, where you ride it etc etc
Is their any preferred sequence to remove the bolts ? All or one at a time ?
Depends on the bike, how you have it supported. All is better and do it on the bench
