So how often would you suggest to pull the bolts and grease ?
Is their any preferred sequence to remove the bolts ? All or one at a time ?
Nick
Oil a and filter change on the 250
Coolant change on 250 and 450
Cleaned both air filters and made an air filter drying for rack over the shed sinkBoth bikes are now as well prepped as I can get them so time to do some riding :woohoo:

Trailboss wrote:No special tools required Nick. Drain the coolant, remove the hoses and I put the garden hose into the top of the radiators one at a time and flush them out. I then put the hose into the water pump inlet and run the engine with engine running watching the water out of the engine until it’s clear. I stop the bike, turn of the hose and remove it from the inlet. I then start the bike and give it a little rev to pump what water I can out of the system. (5 seconds tops of engine running) Inspect all your hoses and clamps and reconnect them. Fit a new thermostat if your bike has one(you need a thermostat to control coolant flow) and fit a new radiator cap if it’s over 4 years old its due. Fill with coolant to the coolant manufactures mix recommendation don’t run it straight if it is meant to be mixed with water. Fill it slowly and let it stand so the air has a chance to get out of the system. After about 10mins I start it and let it idle for about 5 mins with the cap off to bleed the air out. I top it up and take it for a 10 min ride, recheck it when it cools, top it up and ride it.TB
Used this method on both 250x and 450x today and worked a treat , filled up with Engine Ice and ready to go
Thanks for the pointers TB !!

I had the oneal elements with no joy either ..h.. I ended up going the Gaerne SG10 and rode in them almost every weekend for 3 years .. Great boots.
Last Christmas my wife bought me a pair of the Sidi Crossfires with replaceable soles and they are also great boots !
One thing both these boots have in common is a hinged ankle which for me made the break in period very quick and they are very comfortable

Fitted new Protaper half waffles and Barkbusters
New chain and sprockets 14-51 gearing . Rear brake pads.
Oversize front brake rotor worked a treat on the 250 so went the same again with new pads and a speedo drive eliminator.
It’s starting to take shape now so hopefully get a test run Sunday :woohoo:

S#%t yeah !!!! How good would that be !!!

I’m also running 14-51 on the 250x which is spot on

I’m hearing you Buzz, I was very impressed with the design and I have always been happy with the B&B but went the Force as that’s what’s on the 250
I need as much bike protection as possible too with your trail tactics
Nick
It wasn’t my trail tactics mate, it was your poor eye sight. I can lend you my reading glasses when you come over at the end of August if you want
I didn’t mind the B&B alas it offered good projectile protection, but because it mounted to the radiator it still got pushed about in crashesBuzz
it was my poor judgement that resulted in needing protection mate …… Not the first time I’ve said that either
Looking forward to Nundle , not sure what to bring ??? Crash the 250 or 450 ??

On this subject of safety gear though, it does seem to me to that if prices were at a more affordable level more of us would gladly purchase it and replace it when damaged equating to more units sold and safer riding for everyone, shame costs have to be a consideration over safety
Nato I do have photos of it but cant for the life of me work out my photobucket, does just look a little scuffed though

I had an off at about 100KLM on Watagan forrest road a few years back. Knocked myself out for about an hour and still cannot remember one bit of that whole Sunday except for the surreal experience of waking up at about 5pm, mate tells me I never slept and even road the bike back to his house. Thats the only helmet I have ever retired because of a crash, maybe had another couple of rides before I got around to it though
If your riding with people who are quite a bit better than you, my experience is that you are more likely to come off until your riding improves. If your riding at your limit often maybe buy an Rjays or Zues helmet, there are plenty of lower priced alternatives out there James. They dont have quite the fit and finish but my Rjays Dakar from memory was only 200. I ride with ear plugs anyway so a little bit of wind noise on the cheaper lid was not an issue. Sucker for a bargain and more pennies for toys in the shed
Wow , I have found someone else that actually admits to riding on their limit , I didn’t realize I was but was told I was after a few offs , one thing I didn’t do though was go and buy a cheaper lid that I could afford to sacrifice should I land hard on the noggin , I hope I’ve read into what your saying the wrong way Mr. Squiggle because surely we should be buying better lids if we expect to crash and not going for the cheaper disposable option to save a $$$ ??
I have an Arai head in the adv range and reckon they would save me as good as any Shoei or similar quality brand however the RJays I bought first was ok on the day I bought it but inferior quality foam ( or something ) soon made it sloppy and uncomfortable enough to stop wearing it !!

Welcome to Obt Cocko , your in prime Bull territory near Newy and should find more rides to go on than you’ll get permission for
Enjoy the site mate !

After meeting up for a few beers and a counter lunch with renown Crf450x legend Bollocks at my local pub , I was inspired to fit some practical bling this afternoon :woohoo:
Bash plate by Force , had a few makes on other bikes and this seems like a well made bit of gear
Radiator guards by force
Lithium ion battery. The packing was perfect to take up the gaps
RHK pegs
And a very practical and nil bling hour meter , ended up finding a good spot under the seat !!
