Dust is part of the fun really … if I couldn’t handle the dust I’d go be a pretty boy supercross rider

I don’t mind the dust either , way better than foggy goggles !!
Is the Copeton Dam a good event ??
Nick
A top report their Flying Fish , looked like another fun 2 day Pre run

Great read their Rookie , felt like I was their without the talent to be 5 th in ironman
Sounds like a top day and very good result

Welcome to old bulls Matt , your smack in the middle of a heap of members who regularly post up great rides
and if you don’t mind traveling the rides on the mid north coast and up as far a Noosa are a great mix of terrain !!
See you out their

Their is some great advice in this thread which really helped in the Transmoto 12 hour , for me the following worked on the day …
Drink lots of water and eat well leading up to the race , STM made sure we had good healthy food on the trip down and at the event. Between 4 of us we drank 43 litres of water on the day and had very few cramps.
Breath , Mal’s advice was constantly in my mind and it worked so well. Forceing myself to breath through the tricky section kept me on the ball for the easier section where I could overtake.
I should have been much more aggressive when it came to passing slower riders from the start , it took me a few laps to realise this ( revving and shouting is not wrong !!) and the track wears and fatigue sets in so I should have made the most of the early laps to get the best times.
Riding my own race kept me in my comfort zone and upright ( most the time
) and I was amazed how many guys would pass me then crash , pass again then crash only to finish the lap with or after me. Crazy but it happened so often it became funny !!!
The advice for having fun was a good one too and I was conscious to enjoy the riding and the pit banter !!
41 is probably a bit late to start racing regularly but it’s got me very keen for more :woohoo:

Happy birthday Amy
Have a top day

Have Great day mate
Nick
Thanks for the vid Galey , I’d forgotten how smooth the track was at the start with no braking bumps
The ride up Mt Pinnabar was a challenge on the Tenere mainly because of the dust and sun combo we had
but the rocks down their are something else !!!
How good is the view from the top though ??? :woohoo:
Sounds like you had a ball Snowy !! I enjoyed the high country on the Tenere but next time I think I’d like to have a go on a lighter bike , theirs endless riding down their when you start studying a map :woohoo:
Did you take the Crf or hire a bike off the trail tours ?
Nick
Happy birthday Mick , enjoy your ride mate
Hopefully catch up at the birthday ride:)

I bet they were in bed cuddling their teddy bears at nine o’çlock too.
I know what your saying LC , the average age of our team was 40 and the amount of guys half our age that were stopped half way round having a rest surprised me !!
On a couple of laps I had young MX guys overtake only to crash next corner then repeat overtake/crash to the end of lap and we’d finish at the same time
