Simple terms
The power from the battery to the starter doesnt go through your button because the size of the button and the wires back and forth would be huge.
Just a thought the starter could be stuck in, didnt you have it apart recently

I can’t see why the starter relay would suddenly latch just because the key was on ?? Surely the button would need to be at fault too for this to happen ?
How many wires are coming out of the starter Jeffro ?

Yeah mate , going a 606 again with a second on the back , I know the tyre well and am very confident with it. Also they a fairly cheap considering the trip we are doing

So are you starting out with a fresh rear as well?
My rear has done no more than 500km but it’s a 606 , great tyre for traction in a tight spot but only has good grip for 2500km and wears quick after that. I know some guys can get 10,000 km out of them but I’ve used 4 now and never got more than 4000 until they’re rooted. Must be the power of the Ten !!!! Not
Therefore to make the most of this trip I’m going to take a second tyre
