    Great find Mick B)

In England the Step Thru was a standard introduction into the world of motorcycling and once the 1 forward 2 back gears were mastered the only thing left to do was see how far you could jump it in the paddock :woohoo:

Mal 5.1 mentioned in the BD tyre thread about ultra heavy duty tubes for this ride and after last year being my 1st ride at Sunny Corner I was really glad I had them fitted.

For those that haven’t ridden their it’s bloody rocky in places and only riders without UHD tubes got flats last year ( Fish ran a tube made of what looked like Tallyho paper and it didn’t last long at all :D ).

I found the Michelin UHD tubes to be the go but Bridgestone are just as good.

I just thought I’d give the heads up to those that haven’t ridden their as I’m sure no-one likes changing flats on the trail ;)

    Not long now !!!!! :woohoo:

When my wife heard I was taking Yoga she said “I know this has something to do with one of your sexually perverted fantasies”
I was so taken back by her accusation…. I nearly choked on my cock

My Crf250 got really hot in a recent ride with STM. It was very technical , wet and slow but she never boiled :)

I’ve just got off the phone to Boulder and they’ve been having a ball , the left Bedowa after meeting some locals and got a guided tour around an enormous private property on the bikes checking out amazing bird life and waterholes while still enjoying the new KTMs.
They camped in the bush last night and left for Bullia where they are staying tonight. They have tackled some very very soft sand which the big girls handled with ease and their confidence is high ready for crossing the Simpson.
Fish has had a slight problem when he stepped into a large hole and twisted his knee , he’s got it on ice and fingers crossed it will be ok for tomorrow.

Once parked up at the end of today Boulder noticed a small puddle under is bike which turned out to be a fuel leak from a gasket connecting his furl pump to the Safari tank. He removed the fuel pump to find the gasket deformed and not useable and thinks the gasket was made of a rubber not suited to fuel. They checked Fishs and it’s fine. Boulder found a local who’s mate is a mechanic and works the gas fields so hopefully the can make a gasket tomorrow that will do the job.
Boulders not happy but as always said …. It’s all part of the adventure B)

A lot of us on the site have the Spot Trackers and one of our sponsors supplies them at a good price.

You buy the unit them pay an optional yearly cost for tracking , the text message part is great to let family and friends know your ok when theirs no mobile service. TB has the Spot 3 which allow you to send individual text messages where the older models have preset messages.

Talk to Steve at Adventure Moto and he’ll give you all the info and a good price.

I’d be looking towards a DR650 with that criteria but I suppose it all depends the percentage of fast open riding to slower more technical.
My Tenere is great in the open / fire road / twin track but I’d never plan to tackle singles on it. It’s more capable than it looks as an alrounder!!

I had a Drz set up as an Adv bike and the fast open roads aren’t any fun at all but obviously the tighter stuff was easier than a bigger bike.

I rode a BMW F800gs recently to the high country and it performed well in the fast sections but not as good as the Tenere or DR650s on the same ride , it needed a very steady throttle hand to not break traction all the time.

Its the same old story …. We all need 3 bikes in the shed to do it all !!!

I ended up with an M12 rear by mistake a thought it give it a go , it’s not a patch on the S12 for traction and is unpredictable in the corners.

    S12 for sure !
