He had been talking to a bloke that had just ridden the Simpson (last week) on 950s, ol mate had told him they had done the crossing at least half a dozen times over the years. He said the wet sand had made it the easiest crossing he had ever done. It was the fastest crossing they had ever done and used near 8 litres less fuel than before. Boulder was saying last night that they were hoping the sand stayed a little damp so it would be easier to get used to the big bikes which makes sense.Nice pics

It was easy for us. Only the first time though. Boulder and Fish won’t have a problem under any conditions I reckon. Did your mate’s bloke go down the Hay River Track. I’d like a comparison on that. Different riding for me that one. RR tomorrow.
After seeing Boulder and Fish attacking those dunes on the way to Big Red I reckon your right :woohoo:
Top RR Lotsa
looks like you and Joe had a ball !!!

Fish just sent a quick note via email as the bikes have now had their 1000km service.
First service at Dalby moto 1000 km in 15 hours Craig showed us how to throw these big girls around. Had service done and left Dalby at 4 pm but rode straight into a storm in the dark we were dodging Roos at 110 and pouring rain so pulled up some weird place called Dulacca Hotel with weird locals but it’s warm inside and the beers cold and a barmaid from Finland ?? Photo to follow

Boulder said they look big and intimidating but have been set up so well they are handling all the harder more technical sections comfortably.

Picking up the bikes from Dalby Moto
Boulder and Fishs new weapons of choice :woohoo:
Boulder with Craig Hartley ( Dalby Moto ) and Phil Hodgens ( Motorbikin )
Nick
I’ve just finished a long chat with Boulder and him and Fish are happy ( to say the least !!) with their 2 brand new KTM 990s . Set up by Craig Hartley ‘Dalby Moto’ who has just lead them on an 800+ km ride in the last day and a half through some very demanding trails with snotty uphills and nasty downhills and some great dirt twistys in between!! :woohoo:
The bikes sound the business and Boulder only took an hour to get to grips with the big girl and show her who’s boss
They spent last night at Phil ‘ Motorbikin’ Hodgens place having BBQ and beers ( 2 cases
) and tonight made it to ‘BumF#%k’ ( Boulders words !)
Pictures are on their way and I’ll post them up as they arrive.
They have still got 2 1/2 weeks to go and will put 10 000 km on the new bikes in that time. Lucky buggers !!!!

After The Wedge
Before The Wedge
I have now got ‘ The Wedge ‘ for the Liquid Image goggles and it’s courtesy of LI in USA and their service was outstanding , nothing was too much trouble and Staci sent me one as soon as they were made. They will be available in Australia soon too.
This is all it is and it raises the camera by 10 degrees
1st unscrew the 4 screws holding the camera in the goggles
Move the camera out of the way
Trim the plastic lip off the goggles as shown in the instructions
Insert the wedge
Refit the camera using the supplied long screws
The new angle looks good
Thanks for the heads up mate
Looks like my card will take a flogging too now

It’s not only in Wauchope where Hobbits are found , they also roam the dense bush areas around Coffs Harbour. As you can see in this rare footage they are very camera shy and can even become camera aggressive when provoked, but they can’t resist the opportunity of standing close while a bikes being rescued off the side of a hill !!
