Just love the area, the laid back life and looking to start up some alpacas:)…………… Hmmmmmmm don’t know why, they just look like an easy animal to farm.?????
Al Pacca, any relation to Kerry or James Pacca? :silly:
(yeah I know, it’s an old and tired joke)Don’t know that they are easy to care for (visit one of the farms out around Glenory or Freeman’s Reach west of Sydney that are open to the public and have demonstration/information days).
They are a looooong way smarter than your average sheep or goat though, and supposedly a bit “delicate” in temperament, like child who bursts in to tears if you chastise it.
Put in some tent sites and we will all come to visit you to “help out” with the property
Never mind the 1500cc
But you might want to fit a 30 litre tank to the “little” 250, some of these guys don’t just go for a short ride
When you drop it or get in to some really tough stuff you will be laughing at the guys with the “big” mules as they struggle to muscle their bikes around.

Nick,
I still have not found a replacement for my 09 Wee that is more dirt worthy while still great on the highway [well not one that I can afford anyway  ].
So I’m looking at putting raising links on the rear to lift it 35mm-50mm.
Can you do something to the front forks that will lift them close to the same?
I’d like an extra 50mm under the centre of the bike as rough guide to what I’m hoping to achieve.
Mine is the ABS model, just in case that makes a difference to what else needs to be altered [like front brake lines, rear shock length might need to be addressed as well for the lift gain].
I’m sure others would be interested in just a little more trail ability from the Wee as well.
I can relate to not knowing what to get.
But no bike at all sucks……….. :pinch:
PM sent.

Now I know why I ride with old bulls as we help each other out.
And I’m betting, with hindsight, he’s wishing he’d pushed every single one of those f***ers he helped in to the creek after his bike.
Seems the old creed of bikers helping each other is dying in some of the younger set these days.
I think that is an actual enduro race, not just some mates out for a ride.
Then why was he helping others over the log instead of just going to get his own bike out of the creek?
If it was just a race then he’s out of it and helping others while his bike fills every tiny orifice with water will just make his job of fixing it even harder.
Race or no race, you would think at least one rider would have had the decency to give him a hand, do they all think they are in with a chance of a world championship?
Sorry, I will stop my rant now……. I apologise.
I’m just more in to helping people than I am in to being competitive I guess.

Thanks Bender,
I will have a look for it on my Apps market icon on the phone.
My Android phone has a function that lets people track me, much like a spot tracker, it gives them a link and shows my progress on google maps [via their email address].
The draw back is it has to have phone network coverage, there is also no other function to share information or pics directly via the app.
Looks like I might have to register on yet another web site, with yet another password to remember.
I looked at the site earlier but you have to register so I didn’t get around to it.
So what does it do Bender?
Track your ride via your mobile phone?
Or do you upload a trip report to it after you have done the ride?
bender wrote:the cops said that they started it with a screw driver, and that the grub was trying to sell it to some kid, the dad saw the damage to the ignition and reported it.the bike was taken to the Manheim Fowler holding yards and i was told that i could tender for it, after much to-ing and fro-ing i was told that no i could not buy the bike back, i had to bid for it when it appeared on their online auction.. – it never did, i rang them about it and no-one new about it.
i was also pointed out to me (eventually) that the new rules in NSW prohibit a stat writeoff from ever being registered again, the whole episode was a debarkle and the only people i thanked or qwould like to thank is the dad who reported it and the coppers who followed it up.
thre grubs who steal our treasured bike have no idea or don’t care on the impact that it has on us, as a bike is more than a possession but a whole way of life – well it is to me.
All the more reason for “baseball bat justice” to prevail.
That would deter more thieves than the paltry slap on the wrist they get fro the court system these days. :angry:No words can suffice.
None of us know when our turn will come.
Condolences to family and friends.
You are in my thoughts at this time too Bol.
The ripples run deep and wide when this type of thing occurs, many are touched by these sad events.
Wouldn’t have thought the market value of the bike included rego and CTP so might be worth arguing the point with the insurance company to get the extra bit [and tell them you will take your business elsewhere to insure your replacement bike- got both of mine with QBE, they even pointed out they could give me full comp. on my old 87 KLR650 cheaper than the bomb insurance I asked for, because I already had another bike insured with them and they could discount the second policy, but not if it was only for third party].
They probably chucked your bike in a ute or trailer, they will rip out the ignition wiring and put in a switch to turn it on and off- then it will only be used as a bush trail bike trailered to and from where they ride [but they do get found again from time to time].
About three years back 16 bikes where stolen from the suburb I used to live in over two nights [there was a gang targeting bikes that were then put in a container and shipped overseas].
I sold one of my Beemers to a mate and that was one they tried to steal at the time.
He heard them in his driveway and bolted out in his jocks, belted one of the culprits across the head with a baseball bat- can’t beat good old fashioned “security”. :whistle:Local Honda dealer out near me got a bike back recently that had been among several stolen some years back from their shop.
Mick,
I don’t know where you heard the stories about Vstrom issues.
I’m on the biggest (stromtrooper) forum there is for them.
The Wee-Strom is super reliable and very capable as an all rounder.
But it depends on what the individual rider needs in a bike.
V-Strom, Tenere, DR650 would be my three top picks.
Strom for 80/20 tar & two up, Tenere660 50/50 & two up, DR650 30/70 & solo.
