Welcome Wolfie [watched Terminator movies too many times did you? :) ].

I’m not far from you, Bligh Park.
I have a Wee-Strom for general riding and trips and an old KLR650 I bought to re-learn my outdated dirt skills.

I’d go the Kato before the Husky, but I’d go a DR or a Yammie before either of the others [sticking with Japanese bikes has become my preference after my experience with a Beemer so I’m not overly keen on the European stuff :S ].

Choose what suits you best and enjoy the ride. B)

2003 model, just serviced, (this bike is overserviced as it gets the full treatmant every 300km) regoed, new tyres, chain and sprockets.
Front and rear wheel bearings, fork seals and gaters done 4 months ago.
    Be happy to get $3800

So stop trying to ride with the youngsters.

Just ride with us old farts and enjoy the ride and the scenery, plus the ales at the end of it.

You know the bike, add some mods to suit your change in how you use it.

Hell, I’m 57 and just getting back in to trail riding [not scrambles or motocrossing] and thoroughly enjoying it. 👿

From one newbie called Steve [aka Ock] to another newbie called Steve, welcome mate.

I’m up near Windsor, yell if you are coming up this way for a ride.

I will give you a holler if I’m heading down that way.

My bikes are a Wee-Strom and a 25 year old KLR650, my dirt skills are fairly average so it is not hard to keep up [or pass] me.

    Cheers,
    Ock

I will try to drop your chain breaker back on Saturday morning, going to St Mary’s to pick up a speedo cable for the KLR too (assuming the Mrs. is doing ok after Friday treatment).

I definitely want to get a ride on your Ten660 and warned the Mrs. when I got back from your place the other day that I might look at buying when you are ready to sell.

Will call or text you before I come up just to coordinate a suitable time with you.

    Cheers,
    Ock

    Hi Steve,

Glad it gave you a laugh. .

Are you thinking of getting a Strom?

If you are in my area and want a test ride on one send me a PM [I had trouble getting a ride, managed to get a spin on a demo 1000 but bought the Wee 650 without having ridden one- absolutely no regrets there :woohoo:

I have an old 1987 KLR650 as well and am re-learning my dirt skills [rusted away after 30 something years].

Absolutely loving having got back in to trail riding.
Seriously considering the Ten660 or maybe a modded DR650 [either second hand, the budget can’t handle new and the Wee and KLR would both end up going, but the Wee is such a good bike I’m still in two minds].
If they both go it has to be for something that does highway easily and does good dirt as well.

    Cheers,
    Ock

Welcome Ock! I take it you are the same Ock I met on Advrider?

    Cheers, TT

Yes, as Ockrocket on ADV, Ockerstrom on Stromtrooper, and KLR650, and Austouring, and XT660.

Geez, I’m looking like a forum “tragic”.

    Thanks for the welcome.
