Trailboss wrote:Freakin awesome report Al one of the best I have ever seen here thanks for posting that. So many questions I look forward to catching up and having a beer. The Tenere in Dingo’s shed that they fiddled with the suspension was what model do you know?Again awesome :woohoo:
TB
Dunno what model Royce’s Ten is , it’s blue and he bought it as a Demo from the Dealer in Canberra not so long ago , IIRC he said the suspension had been worked over , it has a $$$$$ Ohlins shock in it and the front / rear balance was all out of whack ( he said it felt like it was trying to kill him ), they needed to soften the front springing a tad to get the right balance , which is why they cut 20 mm off the spacers in Dalby . Ray one of the other guys on the ride has a pretty good handle on suspension and he was helping Royce out with adjustments and tweaks before and after talking to Craig at Dalby . They had been fiddling with the shock setup the first few days , once that felt right they switched attention to the forks .

no not cold at all, most of the stuff from here to Emmaville is well known to us.We were frozen when we got home after the wallaby hit.IT was not a real good way to finish a ride, but better than Clive’s luck. How many roos did hudson&hartley whack–crazy stuff.
if you’re mates are going north of Dalmorton see if you can shoot em up Ramornie rd to JackadgeryI tried to send them up through Ramornie , they were too chicken or interested in other things , ya can’t do it all on one ride either

Umm , Kinda think you’ve frazed your calendar there TB it’s the 2 / 9 today and you are saying you will ride on 18 / 8 ???????
EDIT , having looked at the calendar , do you mean Sunday 22 / 9 / 2013 ?
What??
Just come for a ride Al and dont worry about the dates
Fixed anyway
TB
I’ll be there unless I am forced to go to the salt mines to earn a penny for the bikes’ upkeep  ,

tooch wrote:Hey guys I’m from the northern beaches,, been riding my whole life. For the past 20 years mostly single tracks around the lower hunter. I ride a ktm 300 for such fun..
I have just set up my ktm 530 as a long distance tourer. Now I just need to hook up with some like minded riders..
I’m in retail so week days work better for me but weekend rides are not out of the question.
Looking forward to riding some new stuff.
Tooch.G’day tooch ,
I am in Newcastle , but am from down your way , went to school on the northern beaches , I have an Adventurised WR 450 and work 24/7 shift work with some weekdays off irregularly . I ride the

Good price on the Tank
best of luck
Ollie
G’day Ollie ,
That one in the Avatar is a 250 , as is mine , I love the torquey motors on the Husky’s of that era , you don’t have to rev the ears off them to make them really haul
. I had an 85 240 as well , my brother took it for a spin back then , got off it and looked around it and said ” I can’t see it , but there is a rocket in there some where ” .
The tank is still available for sale Ladies and Gentleman

boulder wrote:Mate your supposed to be doing maintenance on the bloody house not the computer!!
I love my Montana and must say its a good unit, But I bought one for 750.00 dollars and am on my third unit and the warranty only just ran out. they seem to have a problem with the screens. I am more than happy with the unit but don’t think that 3 units in the first 12 months is good and hope that this one lasts! Hope they have sorted this pro’b out and if thats the case you will love it ounce you learn how to drive it!Hey Brendan
I am doing maintenance on the house , I’ve done a few coats of decking oil and stain on the rear deck , I’ve gotta have something to do while the deck dries .I am hoping I have come into the ownership of the Montana late enough to have missed the birthing issues , only time will tell .

I’ve had a Garmin Rino 650 for about 2 Mths and due to extreme brain fade, brought about by old age and brain cell destruction – I am taking a long time to master the transfer of routes & tracks from the GPS to Google Earth map files and vice versa. I probably need to apply myself to follow the multitude of Youtube demo’s and instructions available and get it sorted in the future.I paid about $400.00 for this Rino 650 plus $22.00 for the Maps SD card option. I actually saw one for $199.00 for Dick Smith store in ACT as a run out deal the day after I bought mine. How much is a Garmin 650 T?
I paid $ 696 .00 delivered to my door by overnight courier with insurance , that was for the 650T and Aus + NZ topo Micro SD with streets etc . Also included a car cradle and charger etc . I have been for a short drive in the car with it and it works great , just gotta work out the route planning and track conversions and all will be good with the world .
I found a cheaper seller but their website was a bloody nightmare to use so I went with the Johnny Appleseed sale as it was easy to do and had free shipping .

Alanglenm wrote:Al, you reckon your learning curve’s steep.I’ve had mine about 2 months now and it makes me feel like dementia and senility have hit simultaneously. But then I still struggle with a mobile phone. How ya gowin’ Glen , You and Robbie missed a great arvo and the next Morning thanks to that bloody dumb Queenslander Roo there week before last . I have an old persons Mobile phone , so that’s easy , this new GPS has me a bit bamboozled at the moment , GPS babble also has me stuffed , I can’t work out how to convert my old Magellan track files to Garmin Track files yet .
I fluked one this arvo , converted the track recorded on my Magellan of the last ride I did with Mark before the TK ride , problem is …… I have no f__ken’ idea how I did it  .
My wife is really getting the shits with me sitting in front of the computer for hours at a time trying to work it out , just lucky she went to work this arvo and wont be back till Friday arvo , gives me time to go for a ride and work this Garmin sucker out  .
I have a bunch of Mates Headed your way tomorrow ,they will be leaving Willawarrin in the Am and going through the New England NP to Ebor . Then onto Chaelundi and Nymboida . I was going with them but spent all my saved dollars on the TK ride and buying this GPS . :S
Cold up there Still ? Emmaville was -8 as we pulled the bikes out of the shed
Cheers
