These others you boil the bag in water or put them in your pot. The back country as you know are simple, you boil water and pour it in the bag no washing up for the jet boil. Ten to fifteen mins eat and throw the bag on the fire and wipe the spoon. The meals aren’t bad some are real good and some ordinary but if you are that fussy you haven’t ridden hard enough I reckonTB
I am gunna have a look around for something cheaper than back country , $ 10 for a small average meal is a bit rich , I have to add a packet of noodles to a back country meal to have enough to satisfy my hunger after a big day on the bike  .

I am halfway packed too , but my gear is still spread all over the shed , all around the bike :silly:  .

Yeah I’m going to try to head out to OFB. I will be on my 640, but same as you no firm plans…… Where are you heading from/to? I will be leaving from Blaxland/Blue Mountains also and have recently purchased the 640 and would like to do some adv rides work permitting.
Cheers,
LeftyG’day Lefty ,
As Eagle says , I am on the Eastern shore of Lake Mac , Walking distance to Warners Bay Cafe strip .
I am leaving Early AM on Fri 3rd of May and intending to do some serious slab K’s out to Warren / Never tire area and then wander along the dirt to be at Birdsville around Lunch time Monday .
That`s about as firm as my plans are at the moment . I may be hooking up with some other Hunter Valley residents , as yet I have not heard from them regarding bike readiness and personal commitments being organized , knowing one of them , he will be ready , but not till the very last minute .
Cheers Alan

I am going out there , on my 950 , but I am yet to make any firm plans , interested to read what route and the time frame …….. maybe ride some of the way with yas , or just meet up with you guys for a drink one night on the way out .

You can get out of Youdales by the intersection of Kunderang Road and Spokes Trail on the Coachwood Road side. They have concrete bollards in the ground, but a bike can slip through no worries.
Kunderang-Spokes Trail Google Maps
This might be a good option to either explore the rest of the Carrai Plateau or head straight down to Armidale Road and on to Bellbrook.I have been through on Racecourse and Spokes trail many times in the past 7 or so years of Adventure riding , but never have I been in to the Youdales hut trail past the National parks gate , I know the key is available and where to get it but was not aware that the hut cannot be used to camp in , which slows down my interest considerably due to the need for shelter and keeping up off the ground when it is this wet consistently for so long , I’ll keep the ride in the memory bank and do it when the weather is more conducive to camping on the ground .

But to win the virtual prize , ya gotta name the pub , and the word Bourke IS part of the pubs name . ….. The publican’s name is Locky , and he had a DRZ for a number of years before his back gave him too much grief to continue riding . The place is my recommended place to stay in Bourke should you need a feed and accommodation .
