They have their .au office in Sydney but they ship out of NZ. I pasted the response I got from them last time they took forever getting something out.
They are a successful company but not quite good enough to own a warehouse in Strawberry Hills

    Hi Scott

Thank you for your email, unfortunately Amy is still awaiting a reply which can take sometimes 48 hours or just over. At this stage as the skis are actually classed as a large/bulky item which can get held up in Australian customs to be checked over and do have to have a separate process than a straight forward apparel or small good order. This can cause some delays to occur.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind Regards, Holli
    Torpedo7 Customer Services

So , it appears that Torpedo7 ship an order to the Sydney office / shopfront from New Zealand and then break down that order and ship individual items / packages to the customers . Seems like a process that could be pared down with some thought and intelligence to speed up the delivery side of things .

I have been buying plenty of consumables from Torpedo7 for about 4 years , nothing but good quality stuff at reasonable prices is my experience (Known brand names only ) . Sometimes have to wait a bit longer than you’d expect for stuff to turn up though considering the distance said items have to travel . Torpedo7 is in Sydney and I am in Newcastle but some things have taken over a week to get here  . Maybe that the stock was not in the warehouse so had to wait for arrival at the warehouse  before it was sent or sumthin’ .

Torpedo7 are a Kiwi business who use a .au version of their website to market locally. Most of their product is shipped out of NZ but is still no excuse for how slowly they deliver. I have always found their stuff to be good quality but don’t order on a Monday and expect to have it by the weekend.

Yep they have a Kiwi adress , but all the stuff I have had posted to me from them comes from an Address in Strawberry Hills , which is smack bang in the middle of Sydney .

Spot 2 has a claimed Battery life of 4.3 days , leave it on overnight (Beer is more important than turning off gadgets :P ) and you get about 2 days , 3 is more likely to be less intensive on the battery due to the frequency of the signal from what I have read .

I’d be happy to be able to wire it in to the bikes ignition , don’t need it when the bikes turned off do ya ?

Have to suss out the voltage required(spot 2 is = to 3 “AAA” s  ) and find a rectifier / resistor circuit to suit to reduce it back from 12 v . Then work through a way to fit it while staying water tight :) .

I have Plenty of other stuff to do before attempting this though .

Good for peace of mind , Check the battery life . Some of them chew through batteries and end up costing an arm and a leg to keep the Batteries up to them . They specify Lithium Batteries only and in the regional areas they cost you about $20 a set . Expensive when they can be flat every second day and you are doing a several week ride .

I have only used the original spot myself , helps my wife feel secure when I am away by knowing where I am even when there is no Mobile service to talk to her .
