Thanks for all the tips guys, ordered said chain and front sprocket yesterday and received them today … Nice work Sutto’s! Here is my tip …. That chain comes in silver and gold which I didn’t realize and ended up with the gold one ….. Going to look a bit odd amongst all the orange but better then bench time
gold or silver? Doesn’t matter after a couple of rides its going to be black with chain lube anyway
don’t worry I won’t be getting a head set for that exact reason. When I’m on the bike its just me, antonio and the scenary.
Cool beach shots. I grew up on qld sunshine coast. Every wk end on the beach dickies, kings, moffat or alex heads so I get where you’re coming from.
Enjoy the waves.

I’ve thought about getting one of those head set communicators so other riders can give me tips as I’m going. My only concearn is who has to listen to my rants. Could be seriously distracting for someone   :laugh:Good to meet you GMac.
Glad you had a good ride. That was a pretty easy run for Murph and the boys but so good of them to take time out to show everyone around.
Yeah my kids are still little so I was woken up at 7:30 with four kids jumping on the bed.
Oh well at least I’ve got big sleep in to look forward to. Frankly I’d rather be out on the bike too.
bought the sony action cam in the end. Got it from Costco for $299. Couldn’t match the specs on the gopro for that price.
I’m waiting for the goggle mounts to come back in stock. I bought a bar mount which lasted a whole 5min until I dropped the bike.

sorry about the vid quality it was my first run with the action cam
Ah yes that would be my ‘I hate down hill song’  Takes my mind off being scared
Riding with me is NEVER EVER dull.
razzle wrote:Old Girl where you singing at one stage there? I know there where portions of talking to yourself, swearing etc, but I’m sure there was singing too1+ on the ankle braces and good boots.
I’ve got the tech 6’s and they have saved my ankles so many times.
As for the braces check out Ballards cataloge for these bioskin braces
I have the cheap version of the wrist brace and its the BEST brace ever. I play netball and am looking at getting those ankle braces too bc so many women swear by them.
At least you can still ride a bit. You’ll just have to come along on more of my level rides and shower me with your years of riding wisdom.
You know they say learning a new skill keeps your brain young and helps fight off Alzheimer’s (apparently). I’m starting to realize that ‘they’ were not talking about taking up dirt bike riding to keep the old grey matter in top shape.
It sure does something for your body though. Thus far I’ve suffered, 2 broken bones, one concussion (still getting over that- hitting head again yesterday hasn’t helped opps) and NUMEROUS bruises. Thankfully my medical tag says, ‘was ditsy and forgetful BEFORE the head injury’ so I haven’t too much to lose.
I’ll try and string together a report before I have another nap. Lol
My day started just after 6am for the drive up to Murphs. Unfortunately, as soon as we pulled up Troy’s wheel hit the hard edge of the gutter and punctured so he had that to look forward changing a tyre after the long ride. Plus I had to look forward to being in the bad books with his wife bc I know somehow it will be my fault…what are friends for. Lol
Murph laid out the rules for us, and I have to say everything went really well. There weren’t any major bike issues and the corner man system went like a charm. It was a great bunch of people which made it a thoroughly enjoyable day. Splitting the group up when it got hard worked really well too. My only issue is that some poor bugger had to follow me all day. Frankly there is nothing worse than being a total spaz and knowing that someone is riding slower than they normally would because of you….or maybe that’s just me.
Anyway we went through the test track first. Dude you will be surprised to know that I only dropped it twice through that section. A HUGE improvement on last time. The tracks around that place are just awesome. I wish I was able to just go back and forward though that test track all day to improve my skills and speed.
I seriously can’t remember in what order the challenges came up. I do remember the looks on everyone’s faces as they came out of ‘the log track’ (shock mainly). I was bloody glad Murph steered me around that one. I believe the first thing Murph said when he came out was ‘Well that sorted them out’, followed by that slightly evil laugh of his.
There was plenty of wide open trails that everyone could really pin it on, and I do mean pin it, and what amazing scenery! We stopped for a bit in the quarry for the boys to have a play. Was great watching them fly over some of those jumps.
We were taken to the bottom of amazon ……… yeah on a good day I’d get climbing shoes and ropes then maybe have a crack! I didn’t even bother to ride up to the first stage. I left the bike down the bottom and scrambled up to a good vantage point. I’d love to climb up the rest one day but there is no way I’m going anywhere NEAR it on a bike.
I think that’s when the more challenging hills came up (brains a bit foggy today). I seem to remember lots of people up the top staring down at me, then getting stuck at some point and having the bike ridden the rest of the way. Bugger….
We stopped at 2:30 for lunch then rode till 5pm. So 6 hours in total. Yeah the last 1hr or so was NOT pretty for poor Jeffro on the sweep duties. I did stack it big time at one point (I really really really don’t do well on down hill). After that off I was pretty sure I’d broken a bone in my hand so I ended up getting my mate to sweep for the last half an hour or so because I know him well enough that I didn’t care if I ended up in tears. Lol plus I know he would kick my butt and tell me to get back on the bike.
I’m sure there was more stuff but it was all such a blur.
I can’t thank murph enough for leading and everyone else for sweeping (being patient with me) and just making it a great day.
But Roy,
I’ve decided that your rides for me are like child birth, hours of tortuous, character building pain, followed by a gush of relief that its over, next a couple of days of exhaustion, but after a week I forget all the pain and the tears and just have the achievement that I actually did it and I can’t wait to do it all over again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hfwkDj8glU&feature=youtu.be
ok here are the guys coming out of the log track section.Oh and Murph Troy had a blast and says thanks heaps.
awww jeffro
Thanks for cutting out the offs I had through those sections   .
I was so tired by then watching the vid i can see where I should have been standing up etc but trust me just keeping the bike upright at that stage was all I could do.
I wish I could go faster through those singles.
Just in the process of putting up some OG cam.
adam wrote:Thanks Murph and Old Girl for making the ride happen :woohoo:I had a ball
A cruisey start to warm up, watched Old Girl fall over in all the easy spots (gotta be quicker on the clutch and let it slide so you can control your speed
)
Thanks Stuart for sweeping for me where you did, it’s my favourite single that one :woohoo:
I had enough energy left for a blast back to the cars, thanks for sweeping the end Jeffro
Old Girl you gotta go faster down hills, it’s the only way to keep well balanced and when you see a shitty rock or angled log like at your last crash, no front brake until your wheel is back to firm ground
Thanks to the crew for a top day out, also good to meet a few new Old Bulls
Adam.
Gee thanks Adam for telling EVERYONE how crappy I was yesterday.
