Ollie, seeing as though I have to rebuild it, I think I will get it done properly and keep it, as it wont be long untill my daughter will need a 85cc bike, judging on the way she was ripping around on it on Wednesday.

after seeing the Eric Gorr website you would be silly not to go this option and I overlooked your Revhead daughter

Mate that bites hard :( although the cast sleeve will work I think it may be a false economy of sorts. The cast item will have to be rebored regularly during a race season depending on how much he rides.where as the nikasil bore is harder than most materials and should only require regular ring checks. The cast sleeve tends to hold the heat too much and you may get hot spots which has the potential for localised seizure. I think in Australia Electrosil in Victoria are the guns for doing the coating as they also do the Kwaka race teams bikes even when they are new they redo them as the standard coatings are not good enough (their words) probably looking at around $400 plus they will need a new piston kit to match it.

Also if connor is soon ready to step up to a 125 maybe go the resleeve option if it is cost effective then trade her in. so many things to ponder  The joys of Motorcycling

    best of luck Mick

If the bike went good with the oil ratio leaned out to near on what it should be I would finish that bottle off first then grab your other oil when you get the chance, If the Valvoline is full synthetic 50:1 or 2% if semi synthetic 40:1 or 2.5% ;)

It sure is rocket I get it from the Woolworth servo so when you give them your 4c shopper docket and buy the Revtec (it might be called something else now) you get 8c a litre of your fuel. I think its only about $12 a litre B)

Sounds like it could be your Power valve not opening up correctley, easy enough to check pull the cover off and watch its operation as you wind the revs on. Id say its a Tad rich on the oil ratio as well I work on 40:1 with semi synthetic and 50 :1 with full synthetic you should always try and use the same oil and ratio’s as this will affect the fuel /air ratio and jetting

I would also check your exhaust system,if it is all spooged up with gunk its not going to rev out properly. Bruce would be the best to ask with regard to the power valve removal. let us know how you go!

I recently picked a new primary care doctor.

After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing “fairly well” for my age. (I’m getting close to 50.)

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn’t resist asking him, ‘Do you think I’ll live to be 80?’

He asked, ‘Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine, indulge in chocolate or coffee?’

‘Oh no,’ I replied. ‘I’m not doing drugs, either!’

Then he asked, ‘Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs? ‘I said, ‘Not much… My former doctor said that all red meat is very

    unhealthy!’

‘Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, Or bicycling?’

    ‘No, I don’t,’ I said.

He asked, ‘Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?’

    ‘No,’ I said.

He looked at me and said,… ‘Then, why do you even give a shit?’

    Definitely a Dog Lovers story………..

Teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students.

“Human beings are the only animals that stutter,” she says.

A little girl raises her hand. “I had a kitty-cat who stuttered.”

The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could
become, asked the girl to describe the incident.

‘Well’, she began, ‘I was in the back yard with my kitty and the
Rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we
knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!’

‘That must’ve been scary,’ said the teacher.

‘It sure was,’ said the little girl.

‘My kitty raised her back, went “Ffffff!, Ffffff!, FfffffF,” but
before she could say ‘Fuck Off!,’ the Rottweiler ate her!

The teacher had to leave the room………….

if you dont need to split the cases it shouldnt cost more than $600

    piton kit approx $200 ?
    rebore/hone $150

    topend bearing $25
    gaskets $30

    Labour $200

pretty conservative figures but just an example.you could save your self the labour costs if you can get a mechanical minded mate to pull it down and put it back together for you, very easy being an aircooled 2 stroke
