you beuty SB
unreal report and riding there mate. The only time I have done around Yarrahappini was on school excursions.Nice trails and hills with some creek crossings thrown in as well. I think Corey may also be planning a ride thru there on the way to the Pub with no beer, should be a cracker.

Good on you Motoman
122 riders Bloody hell  did you run a 5 man cornerman system  I to would be interestested in your Canberra rides as I havent ridden down that way and I love the single trail. I find DBW very helpful as they have a lot more users especially when it comes to Gasgas specific type questions. But I have to agree with you, putting up with the young Punks on there, and the ADB forum as well can be very frustrating  Hope to hook up with you for a ride one day.

WOW what a awsome ride. Thanks Mick and Lindsey for leading us on some fantastic trails,it sure is dirtbike Nirvana around there
The best track in my opinion was the Elkhorn trail, how good was that!
It was great to hook up with some new lads as well as the old familiar ones. Good to see Andrew break out the Beemer and have a cracking red hot go on his new bike, ive been trying to get him out there for a while
Moose always the gentleman and a laugh a minute guy who can peddle “Burple” along at a good pace.
I decided to give Moose a break from the sweep duties as my thumb was pretty badly swollen and I nearly didnt end up going, after the first 15km’s I was ready to pull the pin because of the pain but I thru some extra Panadiene Forte down my head and they did the trick :woohoo: I also had the steering damper set to hard to reduce the sudden jarring through the bars. My thumb and palm of my hand today look a nice shade of deep purple
Highlights of the day was seeing Tiny come around an uphill rut and slam into the back of rod which sent him toppling over into the other big rut. Another was tiny again going thru a water crossing which was a bit deeper than he expected and his recovery actions, I saw a lot of tiny’s moments  didnt help with him having half a rear brake and blurry vision from a stray bit of lantana! The other highlight was seeing Kram go off into the tree’s after hitting the mossy rocks and losing control, then struggle to get the Husky back on track,it was a good effort mate
another great ride without any serious injuries that will remain in my memory bank for a few years to come
cheers boyz

I had a leccy start, yeah it was handy but I still went back to a kicker, It wasnt one of the things that I placed to much emphasis on. I still wouldnt kick start an XR650 barefooted!! Do they ever Kickback? ala DT250/PE400

Well I was out today on the Gasser, first ride since the Op and was a bit tenetive  I was clearing trails around Scribbly Gum creek Maria SF when I hit a log that was lying length ways in the grass :silly: Over the bars I went somehow hyper extending my right thumb
I rode back home about 10 KM’s and never getting out of second gear,I couldnt rotate the throttle housing and with my gumby right hand as well it was just a bit of a mission to get back  I have put my hand in an ice pack and taken some really good drugs :woohoo: and Im feeling better. So hopefully I will be able to ride on Sunday,I will still show up to say Hi anyway. Rick and Andrew husky 360 and BMW450 will more than likely show up as well for a ride.
Ollie
Great Stuff Mick and Moose, looks like you boys had an awsome time :woohoo: There sure has been some torrential rain in them thar hills,it has only just stopped raining here at Cresent head and I can just imagine the state of the trails and creek crossings ATM.
good one Boys!!

Quote:My first ride on my smoker was a Murphsberg run too and like you AB I threw it away a few timesMy Hyde bashie/pipe guard saved my pipe that first ride, it’s partially broken now though and I have a B&B bashie on the way so my pipe will be exposed to the elements!
Glad to hear you like it.
make yourself up a fibre glass or carbon fibre pipe gaurd no problems anymore. thats from my experiance at least.
Ollie
I dont rate the Hyde plastic jobs at all, tend to be big shit collectors
Put my name down as well
Im not quite sure if I will still be up here (teenagers  )but will know before the ride day. Hope it stops bloody raining up here soon.

just to enforce what Dave has said stick to a good brand of oil and at the same ratio every time if possible. if you use a castor based oil this should be fresh each time you use it
it also doesnt like to be mixed with other oils
Ollie
My tip is put the old fuel in the bike, mix up a new batch in the jerry can then add that to your bike until it is full. This way you will get rid of all of your old fuel in one go and will have a minimum amount of fresh fuel getting stale. Try not to have to much premixed fuel laying around the garage.

Quote:The food in the book looks too posh for meI make good potato skins though. Get a few large potato’s and cook until soft inside. Cut spud in half along length and carefully scoop out potato. Mash potato wish onion and grated cheese (add bacon and herbs if you prefer) and then place back into potato skin.
Sprinkle some grated cheese on top and grill until browned
Awesome food!
i made this the other night and it went down a treat. As I made heaps we had plenty left over so the next morning I sliced the potatoe up into nice thick chunks and fried it up in the frypan
Crispy brown tasty cheese and tater yummo.

nice one Thirsty, they wered an awsome bike, everything except the forks! Hans Applegren of Husky imports found a whole container load of brand newies in about 1991 and I managed to get one for a pretty good price back then. We raced it,rode it in Poker runs and did a few trips from wisemans ferry to kandos and back a few times, never let me down once.
