From all reports it is virtually the same bike, just a bit tamed. If you get a chance have a ride on any of the bikes you are considering prior to purchase. The older RFS type Kato’s are real good trail bikes. I was impressed with Bulls 525 last weekend but the 07 Onwards Yammy 450 are very nice as well, what is your local dealer like? and like Mr Blue said have a try of the Gasgas 450/515 sweet handlingB) fuel injected torque monsters.

Good onya Dozza for the intro, welcome mate, starting up the WA ChapterB)

Yep I know thats what you were implying;) I am not so much making new tracks, just repairing older ones that are no longer used much and have lots of Lantana and fallen tree’s over them. I have mesh for some area’s that have severe ruts going through some creek beds etc.
Probably the wrong thread but put my name down for a weekend in the Wato’s mate.

I am sure through OBT you could get massive man power mobilised.
Yeh it is a great idea! I have already started marking area’s on my map that need attention. I have also managed to get a lit bit of material from work to construct a couple of bridges etc. Just have to organise a day to do it. Gili and I will be going up one weekend soon to do some repairs and link up a couple of tracks,so eventually I will be able to lead another ride.

ST those tracks look sh#t Hot mateB) Great to see your dad getting involved as well. Keep it up

They Look to be pretty GoodB) They only weigh 160KG for the 6×4. Just let him know of the trailers intended use so that he can fit appropriate Tie down points jerry can stowage’s etc. Good to support the local economy as well;)

Quote:well after about 13 years and an incredible number of kms. Sport has decided he should get a new bike. Not sure what he is doing with the now famous WMW CR.He has bought a 1 month old 09 KTM250 2T with 300km on it. It also has $8000 worth of new KTM hard parts on it.
Apparently the previous owner ordered the bike with $8000 worth of hard parts. Rode it. Then rode his friends Berg. Then bought a Berg.
Might get a ride in this arvo
I saw that On Ebay, looked like a good Deal,Now he has to go and get it all dirty:woohoo:

Quote:why not use two stroke gear box oil in the gearbox of a two stroke i found the silkalene brand stuff good in my old cr but as TB said you should use what the manufacturer recommend grade etctried it,bike didnt like it.Dex 3 for me babyB)
Beatle, I was using Motorex 2t gearbox oil in the Gasser when it went Bang!!
Not saying it was the oils fault but that was what was in it at $24 a litre:ohmy: after the rebuild I tried Dex III auto trans oil. It went sweet,no notchiness in the gears, clutch didnt squeal, started easily in gear and generally felt great. I changed it after probably 4 rides and it came out clean with no metal on the magnetic sump plug. I then changed the oil to another Fully synthetic 2t Gearbox oil,and I am not real happy with it,gears are notchier and it has contaminated after 5 good rides.Next change will be back to the Dex III for sure.
My 2 bobs worth

My range of 19’s is pretty limited maybe I could place a special order;) I will have a look for you.
Ollie
Yep that would workB)
BTW I just remembered they are called a Carabina

My budget set up uses a piece of gal purlin at the front to hold the wheel straight works fairly well.
If you had a matching piece where the rear wheel sits it would be better. Then you could run a long channel and bolt the gate up if youve only got a 6×4, try second hand building supplies they are good for odd stuff.
Weld some rods onto the nuts so you can convert back to box for all the other box trailers work.Cheers
My DRZ now rides proudly in my 7×4 box trailer, all i did was welded 2 U bolts at the front,,1 each side, and then when I put my home made fork saver in , I just have to mover the rear to one to shut the tail gate, without the fork saver it fits neatly in the trailer,,I havent had any drama yet.
I didnt put any chanel in to hold the wheel as the tie downs should not let it move and a quick rope around the rear wheel to the trailer fixes that end,,
By the way thats her on the trailer for nundle this weekend ,,,,sad hey but I`m keen
Hey Boony, just noticed the Zuke sitting up there nice and proud in the Trailer. One word of advice mate take it or leave it,but with your tie downs I would replace your single Hooks with a quick snap fitting (forget the techo name, but mountain climbers use them) or use the loops that KTMRAT makes. I have seen and heard of way to many bikes come unstuck on some dirt road because of this very same setup;)
Ollie
No Problems Bruce,I will go and check on the inventory and let you know what I have in stock and you can then make your decision (cant promise a 736,but i know I do have some Dunlops) I get twenty five in at a time and am about half way through the last order.
Rider X let me in on his tyre pressure testing method as well, similar to yours and Bull and I had no problems getting up this really slick clay based hill.OllieB)
