In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University .

On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air.

The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully.

He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it.

As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife,

after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.

The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments.

Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled.

Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away

Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son.

As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and

walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing

The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down.

The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.

Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant.

Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure.

He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder.

The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs

and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.

Probably wasn’t the same fucking elephant.

buying cheap pads is false economy, i actually use braking brand, i was in a pinch once and ordered cheap pads for the RMX They went alright in the dry but in the wet Watagans they lasted about 3 hours and were down to the disk:angry: The North side of the Watagans is the harshest area I have ever seen on brake pads:ohmy:

The latest ADB has a story on how to dewater your bike.

Not having a proper spark plug spanner for your bike is dumb, especially if it holds up 15 or so guys who want to keep riding,Happened at Wauchope last ride I was on,luckily rider x who was leading doubled back and got ol mate sorted.
Ballards do spark plug spanners for $15 dollars, yamaha ones have a hinge, not sure about KTM’s

    Basic step by step procedure.

1 remove your airfilter to allow inspection of carby throat.
2 remove seat and tank to get to spark plug.remove plug
3 Tilt bike vertical,to drain exhaust, use starter to pump any water out of spark plug hole, replace plug when no more water comes out
4 remove carby drain plug, the correct spanner here also helps:(
5 wipe out any remaining water, between airbox and carby
6put tank and seat back on,try to start bike with filter off.
7.use clean rag and try and dry filter as much as possible.
8 put all remaining bits back on bike, keep roosting.

I think Moto is more Aussie than he’d like to admit…it’s obvious he was on a ‘birthday promise’.
It’s not every day you turn 30 (or there abouts). His day of passion with the ‘loved one’ was more important to him than a day with the ‘Bulls’. He’d rather a sore front than a sore rear…so to speak!!!!!!!!!!
    Crash
ps. love ya little brother, good on you. Sometimes you just gotta call it the way you see it!!!!!

Fa#k that! Give me dirtbike riding any day! I must be getting old:laugh:

Oh and Ollie, you got a mention today! I’ve been giving my best through those whoops sections the last few rides after you belted past me and I nailed them pretty good last ride so this time when I saw an opening I belted past 383 and Mototrans like you did to me that day and it felt gooooood!

  Good onya Trent sometimes its hard to get your head around, but usually if you pick up the pace and hit the whoops so the front is skimming on the tops and the rear is taking all the hits is the quicker option. Get it wrong though and the resulting Crash is usually quite spectacular.
