Yeh mate I guess your right on that one I would still approach them and see what they say. You would probably be able to fix it easy enough, slice the end off with a thin blade, inspect repair ,then Tig it back up. If Time is not an issue I could do it for you mick.
Ollie
Shane, there is probably 5-6 ways of attacking this problem, and many have already been suggested,I will throw my 2 bobs in, give the outside of the nut a go with some rust buster or penetrine, let it soak the longer the better, apply some Gentle heat to the cases with a hot air gun or propane torch, remember Gentle heat, next get a can of quick freeze (bunnings, auto one)spray the nut. Then use a rattle gun with a metrinch socket. That will get the bastard off;) option two, same as above but use a cold chisel, option 3 you can use a plumbers mate which is like a pipe vice grip with an extended handle.option 4 if it will fit in you could try a stud remover. Option 5 leave it alone and just turn your bike upside down and let it drain from the filler:woohoo:
option 6 wait for TB with his special tools;)

Dunno what the go is with it. The pipe had a bit of a rattle in it,now that has gone so has the packing. Geez the old girl is loud now!!
Anyone got a spare XR pipe kicking around??Mick I would be getting onto Staintune and saying WTF over:angry: Maybe they will fix it for you, cant have bad advertising can we?
PS yes you guys are certainly in Dirtbike Nirvana:woohoo:

Quote:i got plenty of time to think about it ollie but the extra gear on the gas gas has got me thinking love the 6th gear on my ktm and the TM seat is hardHa HA good on ya rocket  6th gear would be real handy especially when you ride from Warchoppy to Taree down the HWY:laugh:
And you are also right with regard to the Gasser at the end of the day, still have plenty of energy in the tank.
Ollie
The Gas Gas is a great trailbike especially with the six speed box,and I agree it is a bit shorter than the TM,but nothing a set of bar raisers wouldnt fix, Im 176cm and it suits me as is I know your a bigun:laugh: I think the TM’s have had their power toned down this year to make them more rideable, there is also a new power valve adjuster out now that can give you up to 16 different settings when combined with the map switch. What ever you decide mate cant go wrong with both brands.
Ollie
Yep great effort Champo, well done mate
Ollie
Rocket Im pretty sure the 07 GAS GAS seat is carved from fossilized iron bark:blink: (padded bike pants and talcum powder is a must) Why the 250 over the 300? When it comes to resale I think the 300 would be easier to sell. Very nice bikes and Cross country are good guys.
