I think i went to school with Dean Mavin small world eh?
Well Boyz I am well and truly pissed off at the moment I put the engine back in the bike and bolted all the bits and pieces up. I then went to check the operation of the gearbox and No Go:angry:  The selector would not move. So I get on the blower and get the mechanic,he seems to think it would be an easy fix and attempted to explain to me how to go about it. A couple of hours later still no joy so I was going to head up the coast and drop it off,but a few things came up and couldnt make it. So I am now going to put out the plea for Mercy is anyone going from Sydney to Kempsey or close by who can carry a Motorbike up for me?
any offers would be greatly appeciated

Quote:Hey TB did i read somewhere that you tried a Recross retread on the back, if so how did it go?Dont get him started ! He reckons he only got 350 k’s out of the rear on the MX retread. I have been using them for more than 5 years and always get at least 1000 k’s out of a rear I ride mainly single track rough shit. I have a few bikes and so price is a major factor for me,so much so I became a dealer.I think they are a good tyre and are perfect for trail riders and for $80 each you can try it and if you dont like it next time pay $130 and still get something you dont like:dry: When I was racing Metzeler MC5 were great. I had a lot of success with the Trelleborg Trackmasters although the knobs were prone to flying off I was running a Husky WR430 at the time:woohoo:

I know TB will comment on my comments but like he said everyone has a different opinion. I like em and have plenty of repeat customers to keep them ticking over.
I remember him doing a wheelie over the harbor bridge, cant remember what he was riding at the time but sure as hell made an impression on me.

Yep, I would let it go,pull it out every 3-4 oil changes or if you maybe suffer a clutch disaster

Quote:Or bugger it all and buy a 04 model WR450, I know where there is one going at the moment. :laugh:Couple of scratches and white marks but i’m sure you could remove these with a heat gun.
Cheers
Chris:laugh: Hey Chris I like your thinking, thanks Buddy;)
seriously though Mick I reckon you are better off keeping the cat and doing it up. You then know what condition the engine is in. you also dont have to worry about finding buyers for the other Non bling parts:laugh: and having a half torn apart bike in your shed in a thousand pieces sucks as you will always be tripping over it,(trust me on that one:dry:) What are the linkages suspension brakes wheels etc like on the both bikes? as these parts are the big ticket items
best of luck with your decisionollie
